Hey guys, I am riding to Phoenix and back this coming weekend and I wanted to know if you guys had any suggestions for making the ride a little more interesting than taking '8' all the way out there. It doesn't look like there are tons of options but I wanted to throw it out anyway. Any input would be great. - Miles

Miles... Take telegraph, hwy 94 all the way to the 8. After that, I think you are SOL. Don't take the 8 to the 10. Take the 8 to the 85N. That will drop you in Chandler. (southern suburb of Phx) There are motorcycle races in Pheonix this weekend too. If you go to Firebird raceway look for the #77 bike.

Awww...moving to AZ, are ya Stacia? Well, it was a pleasure having met you and I hope you keep the shiny side up on them AZ streets. Just pay attention to all them senior citizens out there on the streets, because chances are, they won't be paying attention to you.

Awww well it was nice meeting you and everyone else! But this isn't a complete good bye, I plan on making some hypercycle trackdays out here and just coming out to visit friends. :) Yeah..I know about them Snowbirds (senior citizens)...I'll keep up the defensive riding skills! :)

AZ rocks man. Make sure while you are here that you tear up Yarnell Hill and White Spar road. PM me if you need some more info.

Thanks for all the input guys, I will probably take the '8' all the way there, and then take '94' on the way back to spice up the end of my ride back here. 8 to 85 duly noted... oh and that comment about the cops along the way... um, are there really pretty good number of cops spread on that stretch? I was hoping I might get the chance to just open it up a little somewhere in the desert and just cruise.

I did Greg, thanks for asking. I took it to Lee's last Wednesday and they had it for a little over five hours trying to coax the old ones out of there. It turns out I was actually missing some spacers in my rear wheel too. Needless to say I was a little surprised and non to pleased to find out the danger I'd been putting myself into. But hey... I'm still here :)

I dunno about a lot of cops. I make that drive to AZ a few times a year. The cops like to hide in the median. I have opened it up a few times through there. (Once made it to Tucson in 4.5 hours) BUT on the other hand, the AZ Hwy Patrol is strict. I think anything over 85 BAD. Maybe some of the AZ people can help me with that law.
