hi, i have a few questions on glove. whats the difference between the carbon fiber knuckled gloves and the ones with the dense looking rubber stuff on the knuckles? the rubber stuff is a lot cheaper so will it protect u as well? like these: http://www.morepoweracing.com/product~numRecordPosition~1~P_ID~23236~strPageHist ory~cat~strKeywords~~SearchFor~~PT_ID~15062.asp
or these: http://www.morepoweracing.com/product~numRecordPosition~1~P_ID~5004~strPageHisto ry~cat~strKeywords~~SearchFor~~PT_ID~3579.asp
also do u guys recommend gloves that go all the way up past ur wrist or the ones that just end at ur wrist?

It's not really rubber. It's more like extra cotton padding covered by the same leather material your gloves are made of. Think leather jacket vs. textile jacket. You get the more protection with the more money you put in.
However....That's not to say they won't protect you in time of a crash. Different situations vary I guess.

For the most part, the cost of the glove is directly related to the amount of protection (to a certain point, from there it's comfort, breathability, weight, etc). You're better off with the hard knuckles in most cases...they protect against impact AND sliding on pavement...the hard rubber will tear away faster. The "Guantlet style" gloves (that go past your wrist) provide more protection, and are definitely recommended for aggressive/canyon riding. They also tend to keep you warmer as it gets colder, preventing the wind from going up your sleeves. If you're looking for gloves, come into BuyMoto (http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?addr=8969+Kenamar+Dr+Ste+101&csz=San+Diego%2C+CA+92121-2441&state=CA&uzip=92121&ds=n&name=&desc=&lat=32.885984&lon=-117.155335&mlt=32.885984&mln=-117.155335&zoomin=yes&BFKey=&mag=2) and we can answer most of your questions about gear.

Awww...I think it's kind of cute. ^_^ Well if you need a confidence boost I'll go riding with you around campus loop. That's where I started out, and you'd be surprised how much you can learn. Let me know any time you want to go ride.
And BuyMoto isn't too far from campus. It's practically a straight line from campus, that's why I love it so much. ^_____^.

be careful to not get pulled over riding after dark. i could be wrong but i think it's illegal to ride after dark until you get your M1. :nerd:

actually, campus police will be looking for any excuse to pull you over riding or driving on campus at midnight because it can seem a little suspicious. trust me, i've gotten a bull*hit ticket for an "unsafe lane change" when leaving the lab at 2am. then again, this was at CSU San Marcos whose police have been accused of using excessive (spelling?) force. basically, i'm not saying don't do it, just be careful.

Has it been that bad? Hmmm, i was considering gettting an R6 and commuting with it everyday. I heard the price for gas will get to 4 bucks a gallon after elections.
