27-0 first game. Will the Raiders look like Eric Morales against the superior Pacquiao-like Chargers or will they look like Matt Hughes against the St. Pierre-like Chargers? Either way, me thinks they're going to get knocked the f@#$ out. :bringit:

Raiders played a good game considering they weren't expected to challenge the Chargers. Defensively, they gave Rivers a helluva time. Props to them. Glad the Chargers were able to pull it off in the end. Another exciting game. Thanks, Bolts. :woot:

Life lesson #4283a: Do not celebrate a completion until AFTER the play is over.

raiders played okay, but the chargers played like crap, which is why the game was as close as it was. Next week when Lights out and Castillo come back, totally different games. No more 2nd half combacks only TOTAL DOMINATION!

Too bad the Dolts will get that ass cracked in the playoffs....just like every year. No suprises there, Marty will never take the Dolts to the dance......and LT will never have a ring either. The Dolts own the Raiders right now...but its cool...we will be back, we always come back, so smile now, cry later. :bringit:

I'll have to agree. When I lived in Kansas City Marty was the coach of the Chiefs. They were often regular season power-houses - twice going into the playoffs with the best record in the AFC - and they got their asses handed to them every time.

Martyball doesn't work in the playoffs, but maybe he's changing that. I hope so.

I don't know if you guys are watching the games. Its not so much a running game. Yes inside the 20 with LT but overall, we are passing through the air a lot more. Marty ball is fading and well it's the dawn of a new era!

Well put there Big Mike, and like I said once before. The Raiders have a couple of Superbowls under their belt and the Chargers have a doughnut. We will definently be back and all those Charger stickers people are sporting will once again turn in Raiders stickers.

So you are saying that the people that are sporting the Charger stickers use to have Raider stickers? To me that sounds weird! I have had a charger sticker on my car for 4 years now, and not once has it turned into a Raider sticker. Not even when the Raiders went to the Super Bowl and cHoKeD!!!!!!

Oh yea who cares about the past we might not have any super bowls but we sure have a better record then the Raiders this season!

i liked the game the raiders put up.... we've finally built up the defensive side of the ball through draft picks and free agency. the chargers didnt play well because the defense was pressuring rivers in the first half and coverage was good. for whatever reason, ryan decided to stop pressuring rivers in the second half which game him time. i also felt that the silver adn black did a good job against LT. holding him to 109 yards and rivers to 133 is really good- given the chargers have a high powered offense.

the raider offense is a different story. i still dont like brooks, even though he is mobile, which is what we need with out weak line. if given time to pass, i feel tui or walters can do a good job. but even with time to pass, neither of their top two recievers play like they care (moss porter). so they still have a long ways to go on that side of the ball.

as for all the smack talking......
the chargers took about 10 years to get back into playoff contention since they're last superbowl apprearence, so im hoping in another few years we'll be contending for the afc championship.

Just remember, Jon...there were several key players on the bench due to injuries and ahem...a suspension, so I think the Chargers showed their vulnerability based on this. They definitely looked crippled as compared to previous weeks. That's not to take away from the Raiders defense (which I gave credit for earlier), but when they played in Oakland earlier, the 27-0 did indicate what the Chargers are capable of with a complete roster of players.

Yes, we can reflect on what each team has done in the past, but why are Raider fans so content in living in the past? Living the glory days of yesteryear? I'm optimistic for the Chargers to do well during the play offs, but I'll be the last one to say for sure that they're going all the way. The fact is, however, that Chargers are leading their conference and are playing more synchronized than ever before. The Raiders, however, look like a college team can give them a run for the money. THAT'S what going on now.

So come on...sing with me. San Diego Super Chargers, San Diego Super Chargers, Charge! Clickey (http://www.chargers.com/assets/002/11568.mp3)

I hope the chargers do well, I think they're playing the best right now. despite them winning by a few points every game. defense will have to firm up in the second half of the games if theyre going to make to the big one.
