Weather was a little warm but nice. Met up with Zeal, Shichyea, Ickysticky13 and Tifoso at the mountain. I took a bunch of pics or different riders trying to learn the camera better and using different framing techniques. Enjoy!

Not sure what bike that was. I just saw a blur as they passed by. They were duking it out big time in those turns.

Yeah, downhill that's one of my favorite turns. When I first started to scrape puck, that's where I was able to consistently get a knee down.

I like your choice of corner. The background gives the picture some definition and the tilt of the camera adds a nice motion effect. coo

If I stand correct, it looks like an '99 R1 with custom silver paint! I spotted two frame sliders on the right side! ;)

CjrJam, That little birdie was actually being really supportive and encouraging :), but I still stink at this right now. Will probably get better in future, now that I got my suspension dialed in for my weight rather than 200lb guy :)

Arnold, Boy I dont want to put that picture up as my avatar, then I will have to change my handle name to Ms.SlowCoach lol.. Greg really did a great job taking the close-up, if he had a long shot then you would know I am not leaned over as much I should have. Practice Practice is the word for me right now. Pictures help a lot to tell me where I stand and how much I need to work on my positioning Thanks again Greg :D

I pulled dawn patrol on Pali on Sunday. Was only me and another 636 when I showed up.

I made a lot of good progress in my riding yesterday, but it helps me realize I have SO much further to go to be clean, smooth and fast, in that order hopefully. I'm not much of all three right now. Great times, though.

Snapped a couple pics, really amatuer stuff, but I'll share anyways. :D Not many pics, cuz all 3 sets of re-chargables I had were dead. :(

Thanks for that pic, Philo. The composition of tiny me with the mountain in the background is pretty cool.

The Busa was a random rider. Yeah, he did get that thing pretty low.

Philo, your joking right. Have you taken any photography courses?

Those two shots of the turnout are standouts! I'm serious, they are superb in composition and content in my opinion.

**rant starts here**The reason they jump out at me is because, whether you meant to or not, they capture more of the tangible size of the Mountain. I like how you can see that your in the middle of a forested area instead of turn X @ track whatever. Don't get me wrong the close-up riding shot can definitely be a strong image but it's nice to see the context of the moment as well.

The pic of GKim on the Yellow F4 has really nice composition. Everything lines up smoothly in classical rules of thirds composition (Think, placing a 3 by 3 grid over the image). The background has a couple meshing geometrical shapes within it that standout because of the flattened depth of field and softer lighting (Early morning has good quality of light). His Yellow F4 really pop out from the predominently green mtn. side as well as the road surface and painted lines that all meander in his direction. Anyways, sorry for the long post*end rant*

Dayum!!! You gettin all collegey and stuff. :-p

If I did anything right, it was on accident. :D I don't know any of the technicalities or theories, just whether I like it or not. Not to mention, I cropped those photos to get them to look like I wanted. I can't even hold a camera very steady. I guess I just got lucky, cause those were the only two riders that came by before my batteries died.

Thanks for the encouragement, though. I've always loved photography and wanted to really get into it, but the equipment always seemed prohibitively expensive.

Thanks Greg, your pics always have a nice composition to them as well and I like the way you toy around with the camera to find abstract shots that most wouldn't normally think about.

I guess you just have a natural eye for seeing things in thirds which is pretty cool. Usually take a while for people to recognize that.

Photography can be as expensive as you want it to. Digital is the way to go since it is so convenient these days and all you have to pay for really is the camera itself. You can find awesome deals on film SLR (single lense reflex) cameras because of digital starting to pick up in quality.

Nice, I've been using a Dimage 7HI and have been very happy with it. I just wish I had a bit more zoom. The Z1 is a great camera, good choice.

I need someone to snap a pic of me at Pali. I'll probably only notice two things.....

1. Is that all the lean angle I'm getting???

2. Does my head really look that big???

Oh yeah, both you guys (Kent and Greg) take beautiful photographs. Only wish I was that good. I have to edit them later since I'm not great with a camera, but you guys know how to take the perfect picture before you even open the shutter.

I really like the LCD screen. It's crisp and the refresh rate is fast making it easier to shoot the picutres.

Not sure if I'll make it out on Sunday but if I do, I'll make sure and stop by.

Just like anything else it takes practice. Like Deno said, you have a natural eye for photography. Keep at it.
