Last thursday i was on my way to work and i heard this big pop come from my bike. All of a sudden my clutch was gone and i was coast'n out of gear. I had my bike pick'd up and brought to my buddies garage were i proceeded to perform surgeory. What had happened was my chain (the brand new 520 i just bought) snaped tearing 4 teeth off of the front sprockett, cracking the stator cover, and snaping the clutch push rod in half. The only reason i could think of that would make this happen was that when i put the new chain on i didn't press the plate on the clip link down hard enough. I mean, it's looked good when i pressed it but who knows. Also, I use channel locks to do it cuz i didn't have a chain link press. Got one now. I inspected some of my friends bikes that didn't have the clip anymore and their chain seemed pretty solid. I don't know......Has this happened to anyone before??

Yeah...My buddies haven't busted a chain yet and they clutch em. They'll stretch the hell out to them though and break a few teeth off the rear.

I don't exactly know what the hell happened but, it's bugg'n me out.

Bummer braddah, it's intriguing though
It has to be the lack of proper tool to properly secure the clip, IMO. I really don't think the wheelies would be the cause, kinda just helped it along perhaps. :errf:
