San Diego restaurant week: Jan 7-12, 2007
How many of you have heard of this? Ever since I've moved down here I've always wanted to go to one of those fancy restaurants, but of course it's always been out of my budget. =(
So now my roommate tells me about Resturant Week (http://www.sandiego.org/visitors/Restaurant_Week_2007) where you can go to the 5 star fancy restaurants in San Diego for $30 per person. Yes...still pricey, but for a 3 course meal that would usually cost you ~50-100+? I'm in! I'm looking forward to going to Roppongi. Yummmy.....
I also noticed that some of the restaurants fall under the www.restaurant.com section too. Hmmm...I wonder if you can combine coupons/deals. Haha...that would be great! It's also a great time to take your significant other out and pretend that you're spending $$$ on them, and get brownie points. ;)

I went last year to Croce's on 5th. Awesome food. Definitely go somewhere for a couple nights, it's worth not going out for a while to "save up" your going out fun money, if things are tight.
Not sure where I am going to go this year, but I've been wanting to find good Mexican and Italian, so I'll probably use that week as an excuse. Thanks for the reminder!

Resturant week kicks @SS!!!!!! I've tried some hella nice resturants in the past couple years. Only thing, be careful about online reservations, be sure to print out a confirmation. Last year, I made reservation online for George's Top O' the Cove in La Jolla, they basically way overbooked. THe f@cked up thing was that the were still seating older customers, while the young asians from UCSD were basically told too bad, we don't have your reservations. They tried that sh*t on me with me parents and I basically told them, You had better seat us cuz I can just shoot up the mountain and get the print out of the confirmation. After that they said "O! it looks like we found your confirmation." This is only after 30 minutes of other people being seated. So long story short, print out reservations cuz the "snootier" resturants don't give a crap about us "cheap" restrurant week people.:rifle:

I don't see George's on the list. Does this mean they're not participating in it this year?

I'm looking forward to going to Roppongi. Yummmy.....
I've ate at the Roppongi place and the dish I had wasn't that great! I guess I'm such an old fart but even $30/person seems damn expensive! :errf:
