This ride will happen if nobody wants to do the SD ride (see that thread for details). The ride would be a cruise with twists and turns. I am willing to set up a meeting place closer to San Diego. The proposed route (about 81 miles to Cook's):

Meet at the Mobil gas station off of the CA-76 and I-15 (north of CA-78 San Marcos) @ 8:30am
- Address is: 4730 Highway 76 Fallbrook, CA
Get off on Central Ave (CA-74)
Go left to Collier Ave
Go right to Riverside Drive ((approximately 33 miles to this point))
- there is a Mobil on the right hand side at Lakeshore
Go left all the way until Grand Ave
Go left to Ortega Hwy (CA-74)
Follow the CA-74 to Antonio Pkwy
Right past Oso Pkwy to Santa Margarita Pkwy
Right to Plano Trabuco Rd (turns into Trabuco Canyon Rd)
Follow Trabuco Canyon Rd (turns into Live Oak Canyon Rd)
Follow Live Oak Canyon Rd to just before Santiago Canyon Rd
- Cook's Corner is on the right hand side
(((approximately 48 miles)))

Cook's Corner (19152 Santiago Canyon Road) is where we will have breakfast (good stuff). They have eggs, hash browns, etc for breakfast. If we don't make it by that time, their lunch is good too (burgers, etc.). We have two options of going back. We can back track to I-15 south (~48 miles) OR:

Turn right onto Santiago Canyon Rd
Follow it 10 miles to the CA-241 toll road
Get on the toll road
Stop at the toll booth (~$2.50 in cash or change)
Go 7 miles to "the wonderfully smooth (sarcastically)" CA-91 east
Go 10 miles eastbound to I-15 south and back to San Diego
- There is a Mobil off of Magnolia Ave; go right and you will see it

To back track would be 48 miles through mountains and streets to the I-15. To go the other way would be about 77 miles (back to Mobil) of mostly freeways. Either way at the I-15, I would be going north to go back home. It is up to you guys. I have been both ways before. I would prefer the non back track way because it will take less time to do. Remember to wear whatever gear you have. On the freeways, about a constant pace of 80. The rest will not be the fastest paced ride because of the terrain (no stunts or dangerous moves).

Let me know if you are interested in this ride over the SD ride.
