Just wanted to start this so we can have some time to plan, since people have work and studying to attend to. But this is a good way to compare schedules and plan a ride, a bike night, or maybe just to hang out somewhere. So when are you guys free and what are you guys up for?
I'm free anytime from Thursdays till Sundays to ride. Back home, I hit the twisties every weekend, so I'm DYING to ride canyons. But I'd love to do a boba/coffee/whatever run sometime during the week to chill out and relieve some stress, cuz you all seem like a cool bunch.

i'm going to the games tonight. but tomorrow's definately doable. weather says cloudy for tomorrow, so a bit chilly but shouldn't be too bad around 10-12ish.
and where's julian?

hi there!
julian is about an hour east of san diego. the apple pies are supposed to be good, although i havent tried them yet but you should google it.
Thursday nights are bike nights on Mira Mesa Blvd where Albertsons and Home Depot are right before the 15 Fwy. I have no idea what street it is, but it's usually a good turn out. There are a lot of cool people that end up going there. Also, there are some boba and pho nights too, although it's been a while...when is there going to be another pho night everyone?

the bike night on thursdays sounds cool, i'd wanna check it out.
as far as tomorrow, after twelve then? try to squeeze it in before 4. julian as the destination, or if you guys have any other suggestions?
I'm eager to get out and ride too, now that I'm longer commuting:(
I've done Julian before, and its a fun ride, but its best to clear the better part of a day for it.

hey Joe can you map out the last hypercycles ride we took with the sundaymorningrides software. i really enjoyed the scenery through some natural park thing we went through. I'd be willing to re-do that ride again if anyone is up for it.

If you don't have it already mapped (and in GPX format), simply reply here or send an email to rides@sundaymorningrides.com with detailed instructions of where you went. We'll build a map for you!

Aww... if you're gonna make it all the way out to Julian, make sure you take a 5, 10 minute detour and do a few runs at Banner Grade =)

Hey Guys,
Your 1st route is very similiar to the Otay Lakes Rd to Santa Ysabel (http://www.sundaymorningrides.com/road/8286861) ride on SMR.
For your alternative route, I created you guys a ride called: Hypercycles Club Ride - Alt Route (http://www.sundaymorningrides.com/road/8524584) I took the liberty of changing the segment from I8 to Old Highway 80 to avoid all freeways (well except for the beginning/end).
Either is a great ride, I'd recommend also hitting up Mesa Grande Rd (http://www.sundaymorningrides.com/road/5568325) as well since you'll already be in the Santa Ysabel area.
Hope this helps,
- McBain

Highland Valley(->Ramona), Wynola and Mesa Grande are nice, but I think it's like Lv10 (random #) roads, a little tricky....and our newb riders need to lvl up a bit first if they want to venture out there. =p Also, it helps to be riding with more experienced riders that will help you learn the turns and keep a nice pace for you.

I agree, I haven't been out there and I wont be able to ride for a couple weekend until the weather becomes warmer because i have a medical condition that doesnt allow me to ride in any weather lower than 70 degrees... haha, but for a good pace setter, have walt show you around

lvl up, lol! you make it sound like an rpg.
for anyone who haven't read it yet, The Pace (http://www.ridehsta.com/html/safety.htm).
it talks about the importance of pacing yourself while riding in groups. very informative, uh, information.
another great read about pacing (http://www.sportrider.com/ride/146_9306_motorcycle_pacing/)from Sportrider Magazine.
they are great articles that'll keep you safe on the road.
