You don't need to be a UCSD student to participate. Just need to be a student to sign the forms to get approval for a show on Campus. Otherwise, EVERYONE is welcome to check out the show and participate as well! :)

Yeah.. all you have to do is talk to the ASO school club advisor and fill out some forms to schedule date to have the show and a blue form to get permission to have your bikes on campus.

Are we going to agree on a date here? Tuesdays and Thursdays are best for me, though I don't actually have a bike to bring, but I do want to help with setup and such.

So who's putting their bikes in? Also, when is this going to happen?

Depending on the day, I'll put my bike in. It hasn't been getting much love in my garage with the cover over it.

If you guys agree on a date, I can go file the paperwork. If someone can go by the PC center office on 2nd floor and check available dates to reserve the Plaza for an entire day, it would make things easier.

Yo Jeff, Jared, please hook up with Jae to get this coordinated. Let's make this one happen this year!!! This could very well be Jae's last Price Center Show appearance opportunity folks! Let's make it a good one!!! But he needs help to get this done. Someone needs to contact the Hypercycles@UCSD ASO rep (I forgot her name) to get things moving.

Her name is something Weiner. She doesn't like being called Ms. "Whiner" nor "Weener" so just find out her first name.

It's probably best to talk to her direct because it's a lot easier to get things done this way. Going to her is like... going to the "Oracle" in the Matrix. ;p She will help you find the answers you seek. Only this lady is a lot hotter than the Oracle in the Matrix!!! ;)

well what day works best for everyone, i am thinking a april or may date, but what day of the week are most people availible to help?
Earlier in the spring quarter I think is best for everyone, also might want to wait till registration is done so people know what there schedule is going to look like.

I suggest 7th of April, since that's the 2nd or 3rd week of the quarter, and it's Monday so most students should be at school, as opposed to a Friday. Once an agreement is made, I can go do the paperwork (those blue forms), or I can provide guidance to guys that will be staying at UCSD for a few more quarters(or years).

As soon as a date is agreed upon by guys that can and will help out, paperwork can get rolling. The process is pretty much you gotta go talk to several people, let them know we'll have bikes inside the plaza, and fill out and request for approval of a Blue Form, from our advisor, Ms. Weiner. More details as soon as the date is set.

Ok, I'll reserve the plaza for 7th of APR for all day. If anyone at ucsd wants to know the procedure & paperwork, etc, you can meet me Monday 9th of Feb at Price Center at noon, around one of the tables on 2nd floor near the game room & library lounge. Let me know if anyone will be there.

Morning setup (tables, canopies), man the tables to answer questions for people interested in the club, just relax and have fun, etc..etc.. afternoon cleanup too of course. heheh..
Also, bring your bike!! Would be cool to see everyone's bikes at the show.
BTW: Has anyone reserved any A/V equipment for this show? I believe we can do this if we reserve well in advance. Would be cool to have some loudspeakers and a TV with PS2 or XBOX again like last time... of course, we'd have nothing but MotoGP on those consoles! haha...

02-09-2004, 05:11 PM
Will do, count me in. I also have PS2, Xbox and of course Moto Gp3. I guess as the time gets closer we can hammer out the details, right?
11A-ABN
02-09-2004, 06:53 PM
Spencer will talk to Tom Colley to request for the A/V equipment, tables, canopy, chairs, bikini gi....extension cord, etc. We should defeinitely have them consoles out there with motoGP games. It'll be fun. For guys that have classes, you can help out while you're out of class, and go back as needed.
BTW, thanks to Spencer (sworobec) for volunteering to help out with the paperwork initialization, etc coordination. I thought it'd be a better idea that things are reserved under his name, since I won't be a student in April, and we don't want to get charged money.
I was thinking of posting fliers again (while those cops are not around; they're so good at catching people post small fliers on bikes, yet they haven't caught a single bike thief!) prior to the date, so others on UCSD campus can be informed. I notice how there are many many bikes on Ucsd these days.
More detail to follow as date nears.

I talked to Tom about the stuff and whatnot, and he said that's it all well and good. I haven't mentioned what we need specifically, of course, because I don't know for certain. Lauren didn't arrive back at her office by the time I had class, so I'll try to talk to her tomorrow, and then go talk to Tom..AND THEN, once I get a big ol' list of stuff, I'll take that to him, also.
Sound good?
Could someone who knows approximately the number of each item we'll need for the show start a list perhaps? And then I guess people can add to it.

02-09-2004, 07:18 PM
2 tables, 8 folding chairs, a set of TV & VCR, EZ-up canopy(2 if they have avail), extension cord for the TV set----> these are the things you have to request with Tom.
Other people can bring consoles, games, bikes, leathers, helmets, pictures from rides, snapshot at the track, trackday videos, etc stuff to share with people out there. (you can bring drinks too if you'd like)

As a reminder to myself, I have an appointment with Lauren at 11:30 on Thursday the 19th to do the blue form thing.
----------------
EDIT: Ok, had the meeting with Lauren. She said everything seemed ok and would go ahead and fill out the final blue form thingy. I then spoke to Tom. He reserved two tables and a TV/VCR/Extension cord. He said there would be plenty of chairs, but that we cannot reserve any easy-up canopies, because they are simply not a reservable item. I might have an easy-up that I can bring, and perhaps one of you guys can also bring one.
He also said that because we reserved the middle of price center, we can play music at an elevated volume from 12-1, and quietly in the background during all other times.
I guess that's it...

Enter from where the shuttle stops are over by Cafe Roma. Once your bike is on the sidewalk the engine must be turned off and the bike must be walked into the Center.

Maybe i can just glide in with the engine off, if i hit the side walk going 40 or 50 i bet i can make it. ;) :D ill have to make sure the horn works first though..

For guys planning on bringing bikes out, please make sure you guys turn them off and walk it in (off the bike) from the bus turn around point all the way into the plaza. Riding it in will lead to no more PC shows at ucsd.

7th of April, pretty much from about 8:30am to 4:30 pm, which includes time for set up and clean up. Pretty much guys can come out, sit at tables, keep an eye on bikes and gear, answer questions of guys that want to get a bike, play motogp2 on xbox, counter-flirt with the girls that want to sit on the bikes, keep idiots from jumping onto bikes without permission, etc. I'm sure more info will follow as the date nears.
