I'll try and get everything down since I will forget 99% of the details by tomorrow.

Saturday, miss first practice session because tech wanted me to drill oil cooler nut. Javier (#677) saves my butt and has a drill and generator (thanks!). Borrow drill bit from #501 next door (thanks!). Get ready for the next practice session and find out throttle is sticky wtf! I didn't do ANYTHING to the bike since the last trackday 2 weeks ago. Leo (#621) helps me disassemble throttle spray some WD40 on cables at throttle body and at the right clip-on (thanks!)... still sticky and cables aren't pinched. Screw it, reassemble throttle and it's not sticky anymore WTF??!! Oh well, at least it works but practice is over. Make the next three practices then WTF exhaust hangar breaks. Drill holes (thanks again Javier!) and put a bolt through. Missed last practice session and practice starts :/

I figure Sunday wouldn't be as bad as I made the 2 practice sessions without any problems and hope to do at least a half day of cornerworking since my races (heavyweight novice and middleweight novice) are the last two of the day. Actually wait, a black Ducati in the 2nd practice session passing me on the outside of T5 (I was just chillin) and then slows waaay the hell down and runs it wide smacking the front end of my bike making me almost shiet my leathers. After that session is done, drop my tires and wheels off at Sport Tire Services to pick them up after the riders' meeting and then do some cornerworking. Oh did I mention that I forgot I had tied down my canopy to my truck and dragged it for 10 feet breaking off a leg? After that fiasco (thanks everyone who helped) I go to pick up my tires and wheels after the meeting and WTF where is my front tire/rim?? We figure out Perez took my front wheel on accident (which I think he took because he thought it was my secret weapon for going so fast :roflmao: ) and get that all sorted out. By that time, of course, the races had started and no cornerworking for me that day. To top it off, I realize I'm gridded on the 2nd wave for both races and am told 2006 points do not carry over to 2007 for the purposes of gridding.

So by now, I'm pretty frustrated and thinking this whole weekend is sucking. Oh and the wind is getting all crazy by the time my races come up.

After ****ing around all day, my races FINALLY come up (the sidecar racing was pretty cool to watch btw), heavyweight novice comes up. I barely remember anything, but was gridded on the 2nd wave with all of the 600's, but started at the same time. Didn't want to tire myself out for the MW race, so I didn't want to go all out and figure it wouldn't be too exciting. But man, it was a blast even though I was dicing around for twentieth position! There was a whole lot of traffic and I made some mistakes like nearly running off at turn 1 and nearly getting my front taken out by mystery Yamaha. I don't remember the rest of the details other than having a fun time with some ass-puckering moments. Ended up 20 out of 32.

After the HW race ends I cruise straight into hot pit and take my sighting lap for MW novice and am gridded on the inside of the 2nd wave and get a pretty good start, but I start so far back and everyone is turning in early for T1 so I get on the inside line and try to hug the left edge going into T2 which is blocked by more bikes. I go very far wide on T2 to pass traffic, at some points 3 and 4-bikes wide. Pass some people, get passed as well but there is a red flag thrown on the 2nd lap at first because I thought the wind was so bad and there was a mini-dust storm blowing in T9, but I guess it was because some riders went down (hope they are ok).

They send us back to the pits and I tell Greg Kim about the traffic in T1 and T2 and he recommends going on the outside of T1. They restart the race, now reduced to a 4 lapper. Get a good start again and work my way to the outside of T1 and got past a lot more traffic this way. This sets me up on the inside line for the entry of T2 and I think it's great because there was so much traffic going around the outside during the first start. It turned out to be not so great as I was stuck behind a slower rider. I tried to move out wide to pass him but there was a steady stream of riders passing us on the outside with no room to insert myself in. I could've definately used a turn signal at this point :D I come out wide on T3 and take an inside line to pass some traffic. Wasn't able to pass again until T7. I believe on the 3rd lap I am behind mystery Yamaha rider from the HW race who is behind another rider and Disco #715. The rider behind #715 runs it too wide on the entry into 3 and mystery Yamaha rider completely fixates, tucks the front end and takes both riders out. Realizing a red flag might be thrown and end the race I do my best to get past Disco before the start/finish. I pass him on the outside of 8 and hit 9 pretty good thinking there's no way he can catch me now and I'm thinking how great that I have some open track now. Nope, he totally kicks my ass going on the inside of 1. Fortunately I was able to pass again on the outside of 2 and maintain the position to the end of the race. Finished 8 out 30 with a best time of 1:32.4, which was a slow pace than my last race 5 months ago and no podium :/ However, those two races were an absolute blast and made up for a crappy weekend and then some :D

Thanks for reading all my b*tching and moaning and thanks soo much to everyone -- Leo, Javier, Matt, Greg, Adam, A.J., random WSMC racers and the WSMC staff. Hope to get out again in April or May.

Jeff, you were flying out there. That pass you made in two on the outside of that guy was awesome. After that you just gapped him and left him in your dust. Unbelievable riding making up 22 positions to finish eighth. I can't wait to be out there and dicing it up with you. I've got some pictures of you down the front straight that I'll post up later.

Jeff it was great meeting you and dicing it up a little bit on the track. I need to work on my speed at turn 2! I was still on your tail exiting turn 5 but then you pulled away and I got passed again going into 8. I had a blast though!

I got an awful start though, both times. I was gridded on the 4th row of the first group but the guys in front of me were so slow into turn 1. I had to back off the throttle and watch a huge group go by on the outside. Then finding a line into turn 2 was really tricky.

I'm glad that mystery Yamaha rider didn't take me out. I took a defensive line into turn 3 and he still tried pass on the inside. I saw a second of the collision with Brian but it sounds like you had a full view of the whole thing.

I hope to race with you again sometime.

Jeff, it was awesome watching you guys ride out there and kicking some a$$. Makes me want to race :D ...

I have pics of the event. I'll post some later. The sidecars were definitely interesting to watch. It's not anything like I expected or have seen before.

I took 700 pics, and I think I'll get about 50 posted ... it taking a while to sort through which ones are decent enough to qualify.

... taking pics much less posting them afterwards is often such a thankless voluntary effort. Patience Uryu-san. :)
