Since I dragged my knee for the first time a couple weeks ago, I've learned that you can definitely focus on trying to drag your knee too much (simply because it's exciting)... This to is focusing way too much on trying to drag his knee.

I don't get it, he's not trying to hard...yeah, he's hanging his azz pretty far out there but then again, so does hopkins on a motogp bike. this guy just looks funny cause he's not geting his upper body off. He has an old school style, nothing wrong with that...

I've seen some super fast people ride like that. Probably don't get many style points, but it is the old school way!

+1 Some body positions work better for others.

Lookin' "good" doesn't mean you're fast. Being "fast" doesn't mean you ride well.

I'm ugly and slow...I'm just happy I'm in one piece.:nerd:

Since no one wanted to answer, here's one: like you said earlier, the first guy just isn't getting his upper body off. But then again, I agree with you, it really doesn't matter does it.

I was just joking. I'll give it a shot tho, its not the greatest form that i'm normally use to seeing but his spine isnt parallel, he's looking thru the turn, looks like he has a set anchor point riding style is diff from track and street.....i don't know different rider, style, maybe comfortable for em'. :hammer: my .02

Ok, Ok, my buddies down at National City Motorcycles just brought to my attention I was getting flamed by some squid with a silver R6 on Hypercycles, so naturally I had to come to my own rescue. If this particular kid were to ride behind me up the mountain (cause he sure wouldn't be in front of me...) instead of crusing around the mall parking lot, he might notice with a little bit of work, I can get that 600 to slide around slightly. I shift my weight down as far as I can to be able to counter highsides if I gain traction a little too quick. I doubt he would understand what the hell I'm talking about though... ;)

ummmm ya

Dude, no disrespect, but that body positioning is awful. I think even Doohan would cringe at this. Your arms have got to be super tense on the handlebars to hold yourself up like that. This style is really going to limit you as far as being able to get faster.

Just look at this angle...
http://www.rickclemson.com/Photo_Details.asp?PhotoID=7498&EventID=107

On the track this would not work. You have to be able to move around effortlessly on the bike and make smooth transitions. Also, this style is really going to limit how low you can get the bike and how fast you can get around a turn. You would be dragging a$$ while other guys are zooming around you on the outside. With that position, you would also have a problem with exit speed.

actually on the street that isn't bad...less lean angle on the bike and allows him more braking mid corner if something happens....there isn't anyone on this sight that couldn't have thier form critiqued to pieces...ultimitally its all about what is comfortable for you...do you know if that guy is fast?

My very first time on paly, i was hangin off the same way. Once I got to the track and "perfected" my form, I didn't feel much of a difference between having my shoulders over the tank or completely off the side [given the tush is already off the seat]. I did feel a lot smoother with the latter, and felt the bike transition better into the turn rather than upsetting it with my booty goin everywhere. Maybe that's just how I roll

settle down dude... if your not accepting of a little constructive criticism from your fellow riders...(some probably faster than you) you will get stagnet and eventually go down due to rider error as you progressively get faster...just cause your fast (or your idea of it) on pally doesn't mean you're all that...like i said...we could ALL take a little advice on our riding.

+1, When you are an expert possibilities are limited, keep the mind of a beginner; possibilities are unlimited.

Riding with your ego ensures that you will ride alone.

It's been a long time since I've seen the streets as a place to compete for anything with one exception: Tickets of which I have none.

I don't know what 'Arm Chair' riding is.

FWIW, with no comment against this particular pic.. You don't want to LOWER your weight by hanging off; that actually requires you to lean the bike MORE. You want to shift weight INWARD towards the corner, which lets you lean the bike less. Yup, it's true.

hmmm, yeah, looks the same:

Lol, i thought he podiumed that rain race like 2 years ago?

At a track day level or club level, i think alot of bad body positioning can be "ok".

As much as we look up to the moto gp riders, i think that their body positioning is probablly too extreme for regular riders to try to imitate.

Last point is that different bikes are set up to be ridden differently. A great example is my 03 r6 VS my 06 r6. Totally different ergos and they are ridden totally differently as far as body positioning.

All that being said.. That dude has terrible body positioning!! Looks like he fell off the bike and is trying to climb back on!! :roflmao:
