WSMC April 14,15. Anyone going or thinking of going?

Mad Man Matt "The Maniacal Mystery Monkey" MotoFuzzle Will be gracing us with his debut performance on a Formula 1 Sidecar.

Come one, Come all to view this once in a 2nd weekend of March 2007 spectacular event. Cheer him on, Offer him pointers that he will no doubt forget at 100+mph. Just don’t feed the monkey! No seriously, he might soil his Arai. err...Icon. Sorry MadMan

Yea… so anyway. Matt and I are looking for some people with whom to carpool up to WillowSprings this weekend for the WSMC races. Preferably getting there very early Saturday morning in time for the Sidecar practice sessions (I don’t know the schedule as of yet), or even late Friday night. We will be camping in the paddock area to stay local and save precious dollars.

Matt as a sidecar monkey... this I may have to see in person. I'm willing to drive, but when would we be getting back? I'm kinda iffy on the camping idea as well... :P

sounds like fun.. but this will be my first weekend in SD since January! I'm looking forward to a weekend of actually not driving all over the place...after the trip to Temecula Pinkberry that is...

Due to the fact that we had nobody shooting with an SLR like last time, and I was running and old Hi-8 crappy video camera, there aren't many pics at all and only a small amount of bad quality video from this weekend.

For this, I am disappointed. However, I am thoroughly impressed at the performances of both Matt and Anny on the back of the sidecars. I certainly hope they enjoyed the ride.

On behalf of myself and the SRA, I'd like to thank the two of them for helping us make it a great weekend despite one big crash in practice. We hope that they decide to come back and ride again soon.

Perhaps next time, we can entice some people with better A/V equipment?!?!? I'm trying to put together a race dvd for the sidecars in due time, and the more video (on board and trackside) and pics, the better of course.

On the subject of the sidecar that flipped outside of Turn 1. The passenger (Eric Angel), a solo racer as well was fine with what seemed to be only a bruised hand. The driver (Bill Becker of the SRA) sustained a broken arm, which isn't too bad considering he crossed part of the track upside down under the rig and was later ejected. A big thanks to the corner workers and ambulance crew who helped Bill and Eric as well as towing the rig back to the paddock.

Thanks again to all those who come to watch and support the sidecars. We love running with WSMC and look forward to attending many more races to come.
