Power: Akrapovic RACING/EVOLUTION systems allow the Yamaha engine to breathe to its fullest, as can be seen in both the power and torque curves. In addition to increased power, the system levels the power curve into a linear contour. The power increase begins at the low end at 3400 rpm and lasts up to 4600 rpm. From there to 6200 rpm the Akrapovic curve follows the stock curve. From 6200 rpm on the curve shows the qualities characteristic of the top Akrapovic systems. The increase runs all the way to the top of the rpm range, where it reaches max. power of 160.7 HP at 12730 rpm. The max. increased power is a massive 7.9 HP at 7200 rpm.

Torque: the torque curve is even more eye-opening, as the system exerts an even greater influence on the stock curve. The drop-outs in the stock curve at around 3600 rpm and 7200 rpm are filled. The engine will be responsive at every point, allowing both racing intensity and smooth shifting at low revs.

Dont count out the Termignoni pipes either, I have them on my R1 and I put out 167.38rwhp and they look Sweet as well! :)

Damn, at that price you are paying $250/1hp. A full Akrapovic System for the R1 is nearly 2k. Thats some expensive bolt on power. Id like to see the dyno charts for the torque curve

dont count out hindle as well. I been looking into the Termi's, hindle, akro, yoshi, etc... you get the point.

The hindles are putting out as much as the akro's. They all put out around 165+ or so. Hindles cost 1000 for a full system. A guy on the r1 forum is selling the Termi's brand spanking new for 1025 which is about 500 dollars cheaper then retail. How much will buymoto sale them for?

Why would someone with an new R1 that is already making massive hp spend thousands just to gain a few more ponies unless they are pro. Must be bling factor. Will 8 more hp on a 180 hp bike really make a big difference

id get it just for the sound/flatten out the dip at 7k, not just for the bling factor of it. but there is no way im gonna get an akra system...

Well I got +17hp gain all said and done on my bike. the Extra HP is used on all gears not just 6th gear so it DOES make a difference when you up your HP, but it is true that most riders dont ever use thier bikes anywhere near the potential it has. But I personally track my bike as often as I can.

Sound is perfect, much louder and throater than the stock. But when I got mine they had NO U.S distrubuters so it was expensive but since then LP has picked them up and you can get them readily everywhere now and the prices drop 1/3 lower then what I paid :slap:

When I get a chance I'll make a mpg with the sound :)

graves is over rated, and way over priced. I seen the termis put out way more then the graves. Heck i even seen the canadian exhaust hindle put out the same exact numbers as graves and is 800 dollars cheaper :squid:

Im sure its a nice system, but you do realize your going from a Ti exhaust to a SS exhaust? The Graves is all Ti and dead sexy! .. shoot its even sexy dead!

Exhaust is mostly personal pref anyway.. What else are you doing?

Man this crap is going to make me broke. im debating on going all TI if i get enough money, its like 1600-1800 for all ti. Id do slip ons but the curve isnt that great as the full, i want to start using this baby on the track, why pay 2x's to buy a slip on then a full.

I got the Graves and they work great, the other stack that I know of are the Factory pro. I also got the Sato rearsets, that or the Gilles are pretty good too.

I installed the Termignoni Half system Full Ti with carbon wrap, and Ti Y-pipe (cat eliminator) the thing is you dont have to buy a FULL system again if you feel like upgrading you can just buy the headers and connect them up. But the Half system works perfect you probably wont want to upgrade :)

I opted for the Ohlins suspension, but the stock suspension is really good and if you wanted to you can have it sent to a suspension house and have Ohlin Internals put in and resprung to your weight and save yourself some money. Same for the front Forks.

Graves is some of the best stuff for Yamaha's bc they put a ton of R&D into them for team Graves/Yamaha.

actually, you'll be getting enough riding in for the both of us.

That full system may not be a bad idea. I don't want to hear hp numbers, I wanna hear how many minutes your going to lop off of your commute. . lol

1.21 giga watts if you get the new graves

Dont forget to dyno the flux capacitor...Before and after of course...
