In case someone here is interested.. I think I might attend this recital:

WHO:

Concert pianist Soheil Nasseri is ³one of New Yorkıs most prolific
recitalists... known not only for attracting a stylish younger crowd to
his
concerts but for... [his] fine technique and inquisitive spirit.² (New
Yorker). Acclaimed by The New York Times for his ³crystalline sound²
and
³consistently interesting interpretive imagination," Mr. Nasseri, who
at 25
years of age, is an acclaimed concert pianist, and also, a promising
leader
in the populist mold.



WHAT:

The March 28 recital, will be a repeat performance of the solo recital
Mr.
Nasseri gave at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall in New York on March
16,
and features the west coast premiere of a 30-min Sonata written for
Nasseri
by English-born American Martin Kennedy.

Mr. Nasseri will perform the following program:

Prokofiev - Romeo and Juliet: Ten Pieces for Piano, Op. 75

Mendelssohn-Rachmaninoff Scherzo from "A Midsummer Night Dream

Martin Kennedy - Sonata (2004), Western US Premiere

Liszt - Hungarian Rhapsody No. 10 in E

Mephisto Waltz #1

That sounds interesting. Is there a dress code?

Damn, I have another party to go to that day, but my daughter loves piano and has been playing for 6 years now.

I think as long as you are at least semi-formal casual formal.. should be just fine. But I don't think there really is a dress code to be honest.

Really?? That's real cool! I love piano too... although I am not as good as I used to be anymore... =( Haven't played in a while... bought my own keyboard to practice but i hardly get the time these days... I would love to hear your daughter play sometime!

dang thats right across the street from my work, but I think Ill be prepping....
