Has anyone done the trip up Pacific Coast Hwy? I drove back from San Fran along there in my truck and it looked like it might be a little fun.

It would be a beautiful ride, but I believe the pace would be relatively slow due to traffic and lack of opportunities to safely pass and gorgeous (distractive) views.

Same here -- did it in a pick-up truck hauling the bikes in the back... I'm not sure I would want to do the entire thing on a bike (and I'm not sure there are enough gas stops in-between :D ). Maybe on a sport tourer, or a Goldwing...

And I believe they call it "the 1" -- last time I was in Monterey and I asked where PCH was, they all laughed and said I must be from LA.

Hellz yeah...Montery is far from where i'm at so we hit that ride up all the time. The scenery is breath taking and the twisties out to "The 1" are intense and lots of fun. If you guys hit up that ride, i'll definitely meet you half way.
