As the title says, I'm getting ready to pick up a one piece finally pretty soon. Been doing the pants and jacket thing, and I'm ready to move to something a bit nicer that actually fits nice.

Here's what I've narrowed it down to based on brand, price, looks, and just what other people have told me...3 Choices as far as I've gone, haven't seen much else that fits into what I'm looking for...

Keep in mind, I'm not planning on buying these from Kneedraggers, unless they end up being the cheapest from there, which I doubt. I've got a couple sources my friend has found that have the best prices, but anything online or suggestions on where to buy are welcome as well, I'm just using Kneedraggers as my source for links to all the suits.

Teknic Violator:

My friend has the Teknic one, which he just bought, and I really like it after looking at it. It appears to be well made, it's nice looking, and it's very well priced. Seems to get good feedback to. I wish the hump on it was a bit bigger, but I could live with it, it's not super low profile, just not as big as others.

Alpinestars RC-1:

I just found this looking through all the various suits and brands, and I really like the look of it. It gets good feedback, but it is more expensive than the Teknic being Alpinestars. It sits right at $1000 on Kneedraggers, where as the Teknic sits at $800. I believe the suits are probably equal in quality and what not, but just Alpinestars obviously you're gonna pay more for a bigger name. I don't know much about this suit, so if anyone has experience let me know. I would imagine the hump on this one is a bit larger than the Teknic, it seems to me all the A*s suits have the big GP size hump on them, very cool looking, but I need to see some side view pics to know for sure.

Alpinestars MX-1:

This is kinda not as high on my list as the first two listed, because it's even more expensive and as far as I can tell it doesn't offer anything more than the other suits to really make it superior. It sits at the $1200 mark on Kneedraggers. I like the look of the suit, but honestly the RC-1 appeals a bit more, because it doesn't have as much white as this one does in the blue color. A lot of white makes me worry that it will get dirty looking easier and also start to get like stained and yellow looking after a while. Same with the Teknic, more dark colors, not so much white. Still though, if someone has some great stories of this one, let me know. I'd honestly like to know why it's more.

So that's what I'm looking at for now. I do like all the really crazy stuff like the Spidis and Dainese, but they are way expensive and I think I can get a damn good suit without that's probably just as good or nearly for way less. I'm trying to stay around the $1000-$1500 max area, but I'd like to keep it even below that if possible, unless I really find something that's just perfect. What it has to be is blue in some form (to match the bike), has to have a hump (yea stupid I know, but I just love the look, I'll admit no other appeal than looks), and it's gotta be within the price range.

I was mainly looking at Alpinestars, Teknic (since my friend got one), Joe Rocket, MotoGP (sorta) and I think that's it. Those seem to stay within my price and have things with good feedback and protection, while still looking nice to. Yea I know, looks shouldn't matter, but I'm forkin out for it, I wanna like how it looks. My body type is pretty standard or "off the rack" as most would say, so fitment shouldn't be much of a concern as long as I follow the size charts and measurements I'd assume. I'm roughly 5'11 and 150 lbs.....basically skinny and average height.

Any suggestions are appreciated

Edit - The links wont work, but whatever, you know where to look if you want to. =P

Between the suits you selected above, I would stick with A* as it has higher quality workmanship, fit and better availability than Teknic.

I have the Alpinestars MX-1. Its friggin awesome. I have the white/blue one and its still super clean, had it for like 8 months now. All i really do is give it a quick wipe down with a damp cloth after every ride (takes like 2 mins) and its still nice. The fit is awesome and workmanship is super high as well. I crashed it once on mini bikes (Scott saw me fall) and no tears or anything to worry about... HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

* comes with a backprotector.... I didnt like it so I sold it and bought another one.... something to consider. If you like it you just saved some money on having to buy one separately.
