So I finally made the decision after putting it off and dragging ass for quite a while. Decided to go with the Alpinestars Race Replica in a size 40/50 blue after much debate.

First impression of the suit is fantastic. It's just awesome all the way around from head to toe. I tried it on, fits good (slight pain in the ass to get on) and it feels great. It's very soft and seems to allow good movement, but it's definitely meant to be sitting on a bike and not standing up. :P

I'd post up pics, but I can't seem to find my camera right now, so I'll have to get a hold of it tomorrow when I really feel like looking all over for it. It's beautiful though, quality is top notch and it's sexy as hell!

The main purpose of this post (aside from pictures) is to extend a thank you to everyone and give my seller some much deserved appreciation and recognition.

So first of all, just wanted to say thank you to everyone here who helped me out in my posts referencing which suits to look at and what size to go with, and everything else in between. I really took everyone's feedback in to consideration before making my decision, and all the replies really helped me get there and feel good about it, so thanks for the help! I hope I can return the favor when the next person needs opinions or feedback.

Last but not least, the person I bought the suit through found me on one of the message boards I frequently visit when they saw one of my threads asking about suits. My decision wasn't only what suit to buy, but also who to buy the suit through. I was simply looking for someone who could offer the best price, good customer service, reliable services from sale to shipping, and who was willing to answer any question quickly and informatively.

Tim, from Strike First Performance is who I ended up buying the suit through. For everyone else to have a chance to see what Tim can do for you, he can be contacted at SFPerformance@gmail.com. He replies very quickly always, and is very helpful.

He regularly visits various forums, daily for the most part, and if you're looking at possibly buying gear or parts shoot him an e-mail and see what he can do. Tim is not a business or a dealer. This is something he does on a one on one basis, and the focus is customer service and to make every sale personal. He also has a web site going, www.strikefirstperformance.com , but for now there is no info up on the web site, because he is still working on getting it all set up. Just e-mail him with anything you might need!

Aside from great customer service and a speedy process, if you want an idea of how good he got me the A* Race Replica suit for pricewise, here's an exact idea....

The suit retails for $1899.95 plus tax, he got me it for $1350.00 shipped. End of story. Nobody else could come near that, and I called everyone and spoke with other non-businesses / non-dealers.

He can work with you on many different brands (Alpinestars, Teknic, MotoGP, Held, Puma, Pazzo, and the list goes on...) <---those are some that he has big discounts on right now. Whatever you need, just ask him to see if he can get you it.

Make sure to tell him that Chris from r6messagenet.com, who recently bought the A* Race Replica, sent you his way. If you mention me he may even help you out some more! He's willing to talk and help out with anything you need, I grilled the **** out of him with questions and he answered all of them happily and quickly.

Once again, his info all in one place...

Or you can also get to him on www.r6messagenet.com if you PM him. His user name is tstruyk, that is where he found me and we did all our talking through. I highly recommend checking him out, he was perfect with everything; price obviously, he answered all my questions, shipping was good and fast, and he even called me to let me know he had ordered the suit and left me his personal number to call him incase I had any other questions or concerns. He's really a class act, great guy!

Sorry for the length, and I'll have pics of the suit up later, thanks again guys!

Congrats on the suit. Get some Under Armour and the suit will be A LOT easier to slip on and off. If you think its a pain to get on and off now just imagine after a ride and a little sweat.

BTW guys, check this out.... we noticed on another forum that my suit has a very small cosmetic difference to the one shown on the Alpinestars site and basically every other vendor site. It's the velcro piece that holds down the zipper by your neck, the one shown online everywhere is a white Alpinestars logo outlined in red, but mine is just all solid black. Then we noticed that the blue race replica suit shown on sportbiketrackgear.com has the normal velcro piece, but it's missing the two "Alpinestars" patches that go on each side of the collar / neck.

Check out the pics....

And here is a link directly to a large picture of the one Sportbiketrackgear shows....

If you look at each one you'll see the differences I mentioned earlier...

Is this normal, especially in suits that are individually hand made, which I believe the race replica is, and not quite so much in bulk by a machine?

Or could this be considered a screw up / defect by the manufacturer? Obviously it's just cosmetic, but it really strikes me as odd. I like the red and white velcro piece better, it bugs me a little, but I don't think it's anything worth raising a fuss over.

Oh, here's a pic of some other guy in the blue race rep suit. The pic quality makes it a little hard to tell, but it looks like his neck velcro piece also is not red, just solid black.

Could it be that they updated the model slightly with the 2007 year, without actually technically changing the suit?

Congrats on the suit! And you have a crazy god eye in order to be able to catch that minute difference between the suit and picture.

Walmart has some equivalent under 'armor' (polyester/lycra) for much cheaper! Congrats on the new suit!

Thanks, yea I already wear Under Armour boxer briefs when I ride, and I'm gonna go buy a couple tops at a sports authority or something.

Yea I bought a little thin one for 10 bucks today from Walmart, pretty much the exact same as the under armour warm gear. Then I bought a thicker Champion brand one from Target for like 19 bucks, almost exact same as the under armour cold gear.

i have seen a few moto journalists in A* suites that I really really like. I would say they are the race replica suites except in White. I really like the clean look of a white suit. My current suit is red cause at the time i had a red bike.. and then i looked like a flying rainbow when i got a killer deal on a Yellow RR... so my next suit has to be neutral

I don't see how he is not a dealer if he sells stuff from the manufacturer (probably a distributor like Parts Unlimited) to individual customers. Sure, he might be working with a very small customer base, but he's still a dealer.

That point aside, A*s reserves the right to change any detail of any suit at any point in the production run and not announce it. This is one of those cases with the velcro zipper hold.

Enjoy the suit and be glad you fit in a regular suit!

Nice suit. I was going to buy that exact suit, and then I realized how expensive it was. You got a good deal. I still need to get a one piece.
