According to the rule book I'm not allowed to do that (w/ the GSXR). Don't want to race the RC...

You can do it! People can protest you after it, but you do it for experience. 2 races in one day!

Ok i'm going to make a serious effort to race in march... I got get better and in shape FAST!! HELP!

Edit: I have done it before and it was alot of fun(03 r6 in 1000cc heavyweight). I think you can still do it. I signed up to race last year (then ended up in the hospital, fun), and i didn't get anything from them saying that it was not cool. I did get gridded last, but that was the fun part!

Pretty much anything with fluids behind it and your axles, brake caliper bolts, and pinch bolts.

Lee's will do it for you for under 200 which would be about 3 hours labor...sounds fair to me

They did not say (i did not ask).. I don't need the points, already have enough.. I think you get to keep them unless some liter bike biatch protest the result within 30 minutes of the results being posted.

I have a newbie question...how much does this racing business cost?...how much is a race license, racing a race, etc...especially if your not sponsored...just out of curiosity...

brakstad
02-21-2008, 12:06 AM
My first race was $610. That includes $300 for the transponder (needed for race timing, one-time purchase or you can rent for $60 per race weekend), $80 for the race ($70 if you pre-register), $120 for the WSMC license, and $110 for the new racer school.

Tire warmers are not a must, but certainly nice to have. Retail $400. Then you need a genarator, another $500-900. New tires, transportation, hotel, etc etc

So once the initial costs are out of the way, it's $70 per race you enter ($50 for each additional race you enter on the same day).

This damned work thing is killing me! So many things to do and buy. I got the safety wiring done, but my bike still needs alot of work. Suspension is crap right now, way too loose, need someone's expertise. I also have not ridden my bike, or at least 'really' ridden it since early last November. Regardless, I would like to be out there with you guys someway, somehow, even if it is just to hang out and take pics.

Sidecars are gonna be there all weekend too. If you wanna be a monkey for a practice session or a race approach them. They're always willing to give out rides. I did it last year around this time and had a blast. Not as fun as riding solo, but you get a much bigger adrenaline rush from it. You'll be flying the chair through turn 3 and drifting through turn 4. It's something you gotta try at least once in your life.

A WIND ADVISORY FOR THE KERN COUNTY DESERTS REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM PDT THIS EVENING.

SOUTHWEST TO WEST WINDS WILL CONTINUE AT 30 TO 45 MPH ACROSS THE KERN COUNTY DESERTS...AND PERSIST THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING. WIND GUSTS WILL REACH 60 MPH AT TIMES BELOW THE PASSES WITH LOCAL GUSTS TO 75 MPH POSSIBLE IN DOWNSLOPE FAVORED AREAS SUCH AS AROUND MOJAVE AND IN THE WEST SIDE OF THE INDIAN WELLS VALLEY. THERE MAY ALSO BE AREAS OF BLOWING DUST AND SAND.

PEOPLE LIVING IN THE KERN COUNTY DESERTS SHOULD SECURE LOOSE OBJECTS THAT COULD BECOME AIRBORNE IN STRONG WINDS AND CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE.

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF AT LEAST 35 MPH OR GUSTS OF 45 MPH OR MORE ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
