How many fingers do u guys use to brake?

I use my index and middle, but I've trying my fourth and pinky finger lately, which makes blipping easier for me... but I'm not all that used to it.

Q. How does using all four fingers help with blipping?

I dont know, but Ive tried blipping with just two fingers and the brake lever runs into my other fingers...I have fairly small hands, so I dont know.

I know that some people like to use just two cause they will have more palm on the throttle. It just doesnt work for me

I'm a little slow. RU kidding?

I use index and middle, or just middle. Every once in a while just index.

Middle for the most part, middle and index when I really need to stop.

That makes sense to me.

So that I can do the two-fingered thang, I adjusted my brake lever way out (at position 2 or position 1; same thing with my clutch -- if you pull it in 1/2 way the clutch is fully disengaged). It took me a while to get used to.

I ride with the brake lever at position 1 the least amount of play. This helps keep it away from my fingers that are on the throttle. I don't do this as much with my clutch lever, but it helps me with the brake lever. I like the clutch to have more play. Index and middle finger for both, with occasional third finger when stoping and so on....Depends on the situation, and type of riding.

I am getting used to just using my middle finger for most situations, two if I'm coming to a stop or lane sharing/splitting.

I use 4. I feel like my hand is too small to get just my pointer and middle finger over the brake lever.

I just started using two like 3 weeks ago... I like it... I was a four finger scurred individal... but the brakes on our bikes are just too good for that... it isn't needed...

My gloves have a third and fourth (or ring and pinky) finger bridge... so 3 is not an option for me

My glove splits at the index-finger... eh, I'll give it a try.

i use the middle ring and pinky to grab the brake, probably the worst hand position possible cuz i can crank on the throttle still with my thumb and index, but it works for me, i havent ever given it gas while braking.

another reason to have less fingers

if you freak out, one finger getting squeased really hard for a split second is more forgiving that freaking out and using all 4.

just as a saftey percaution i would suggest using the least ammount of fingers needed to get the desired braking effect.

2 = street

1 or 2 = track

2 or less = easier to blip throttle while downshifting

For me one finger does the job for light breakin'(majority of the time), two for hard breakin'.

I prefer 10 personally. It makes for a better fit. But for braking I only use my middle finger.
