thanks,, I just don't see any recent postings in ladies corner then I guess,, or date and time stamps must be off. It looks to me like not much for the last year really... Seems like gurl riderz where planning to meet up regularly all last year but nothing in 2008. Was just wondering,, where did everyone go? :-)thanks for the reply

We're all here. We just don't tend to post in the girl rider section unless we're trying to do a girl get-together.

I see...So who's up for a girlie get-together?? I am new to SD and would love to meet some women that are my speed:rockon: My experiences have been that women who ride are usually more real than the average chicas you could meet anywhere. And to be quit honest I have met some pretty stuck up ladies that I personally could never roll with. My bike needs some love so any suggestions on where to take it to get it running again would be greatly appreciated. Hope to see you soon:banana:
I'm all down for a girls get together!
Haha, jk
Ummm...
What kind of work do you need done?

maintenance.... oil change, tune up, new battery, carb clean out,, etc...
Best advice I could give ya is grab a service manual and tools. Things go bad on bikes all the time. Things like oil changes and batteries are extremely easy. Tune up... well lol, that's basically just a check of tires, chain, new spark plugs, air filter, general inspection.... The phrase tune up can be very misleading
Never take your bike to a stealerhip. I'm not sure what kind of services buymoto is offering now but if they can't do it for you Scott Gage can.
There are many people around the board who'd be happy to show you how to do stuff.
Learn how to work on your bike! Go get a craftsman toolset! Why craftsman? Lifetime warranty. If it breaks, you walk in and get a replacement. Plus they have sears all over the place.
I'm not trying to tell you what to do. It's just honest good hearted advice! Nobody will take care of your bike better than yourself.

Thank you for the advice, I have done work on my bike in the past... However I am just looking for the easy way out. and honestly I was such a space cadet when I packed up and moved out here that I over looked packing up most items I would need in my mom's garage...Plus even if I did the battery and oil change myself which are EZ I still am clueless about the carburetor. I do have the book on the bike but in the past I have gotten stuck and frustrated but was lucky to know a lot of riderz in Chicago that had no problem helping out. REALLY there are no honest shops out here?? I could raddle off almost 5 where I'm from... :-(0

*Warning Shameless Plug!!*
www.buymoto.com (http://www.buymoto.com)

Gixxergurl - Not sure if your bike is up and running at the moment but we're have a ECR (easy company ride) tomorrow.
We're meeting at the shell on Mira Mesa Blvd (15N, Exit Mira Mesa Blvd, Make a left and you'll see it on your right after Best Buy.) If your bike is running, come on out!
As for a the ladies meeting up - I'm freakishly busy until the end of June but have time after that. I'll see if me or Jeanette can post something up.

Wish it was running,, I'd probably already met most of you on the street instead of sitting on the computer ;-) Thanks for all tips everyone. Let me know if you think of any other places. I think I will do the battery and oil change myself, however I have no interest in removing the gas tank to get to the plugs or fiddle with the carbs.

When I bot my gixxer750 (a 1996, which looks similar to yours from the eensy picture), it had been sitting for like a year and a half so I had to get the carbs done. I had it done at Lee's, and I think it was somewhere around 500-600. But, I may have had other little stuff done as well. I can't remember (probably, if it had been sitting for so long...). But, for the record, before the service bike didn't work and after it did.

Thanks, yeah I'm looking at about the same prob. May just need a battery and oil change to start it going but I will definitely need some carb work done. Mine is a 99- 600cc last year they made that body style :-( Although I wouldn't mind a upgrade :-)
I have looked into Lee's, it might be my only option, however I would like to find a place closer to PB.
I tolds you... go to scotts.
It's farther, but you'll save yourself a couple hundred bucks.
