Hey Ladies,
So, after over 4 yrs of riding and my first track day coming up [YIPPEE, im borrowing leathers for the track day] I am looking into getting some full leathers. I've always just riden in jeans [i know i know] and a leather jacket... but these days my knee is pretty dang close to the ground so I figure its time to invest.
Was wondering about what women specific [on non] you ladies like to wear or have tried on and liked for full leathers, where you got them, and about how much mula im going to be forking out!
THANKS!!

only one piece i've tried is the dainese yu suit. for me it fit me like a glove and vvas darn near custom fitting for me.
never bought anything because i haven't invested enough time to justify buying a one piece vvhen i already have a 2-piece.
becky bought the spidi lizard but ended up selling it for some reason.
not sure vvhat queena has and jeanette has a teknic tvvo piece i think. bonnie has a alpinestars one piece i think? but i'm not sure vvhat model it is.
if your jacket has the 3/4 zipper, and don't vvant to shell out the cash, you might vvant to consider buying pants that vvill zipper up vvith your jacket.
hovvever, from my research, a* stella, dainese yu, spidi lizard and the standard vvomen's suits you'll find. i vvas looking into rs taichi for avvhile but running at 1400 and it vvould have to be "custom" made to their vvomen's stock sizing (apparently they don't keep any in stock to ship to the us) vvith no hopes of returning if it didn't fit vvell... but if i could pick up an rs taichi vvith no fears of fitment issues (and if it vvas a little cheaper) that vvould be my choice (but defnitely something in the middle-upper end.. none of their lovver end/cheaper stuff).
sorry for the long ansvver... i did my time researching this sh!t about a year ago and i eventually just gave up.

Honestly it depends on what fits you and how much money you are comfortable with spending. If your jacket has a 360 degree zipper then you should consider investing in buying pants. Half zippers (or zippers that don't zip the full 360) are usually don't pass tech at different track orgs so that should mean something for you when it comes to safety.
Women's suits are hard to come by when looking for one to try on. Now a days, they even have less and less in stock at Fun Bike for girls to try on. Usually they have the Lizzard suit and the Yu suit to try on. SD House of Motorcycle sometimes has the Alpinestar Julie suit. This suit is under a grand and I never hear bad things about their jackets.
I have a Teknic 2 piece suit that is their 2005 model I think, and it does the job. JenEBean has the same suit and crashed in it twice and it held up so you know it will do the job. Teknic has a new one piece Viper suit out that should be under a grand as well.
IMO, I've noticed that Teknic suits usually fit shorter/smaller females better. Spidi and Dainese tend to fit taller females better. Or that's just me because I always have problems with the arm and leg lengths when I've tried on the suits. (I'm 5'2 btw...)
Few things to consider when buying a suit. Make sure you have enough room for a back protector. Sit on a bike when you try suits on, because that's why you're buying it. And some female suits are made with no knee sliders, and since you're already close to getting your knee down, it's something to watch out for.
Cycle gear has a 100% satisfaction guarantee return policy which I believe is a blessing for females who can never find any riding gear in stock. They do, however, charge MSRP on the special orders (and pretty much on other things in the store) so be prepared to put down a hefty deposit if that's the way you want to go. I personally prefer to shop around on CL and ebay or Buymoto looking for the right price after I know my right size.
Oh, and if you want to know the difference between wearing a 1 piece vs. 2 piece I'm sure the guys might be able to chime in as well on their different opinions. Hope my .02 helps.

If it's an Alpinestars one piece then it has to be a Julie suit since that's the only one piece that A* makes right now...as far as I know...

Oh.. There's been a girl on BARF that's been trying to sell her Dainese Yo Yo suit. She sorta gave up but I think she might be still willing to sell it still. It's black and red. I think she was asking between $700 and $800 for it.
It's the model that preceded the Yu suit. If you look through the BARF classifieds you'll find it.

I ended up selling it against my will to a girl who crashed while borrowing it from me. I never got around to buying another one, but it will be first on my list if I go shopping for a one piece again! Putting on my 2 piece AStars suit after that was a sad, sad day.
And don't let anyone tell you that white isn't worth it. It is, indeed, worth all five minutes of it looking freaking awesome.
