I just wanted to see if there's any interest.... since I would like to buy a newer bike.
It's a 2000 GSXR 600, would like $5000 obo (I owe about just over $5k). It's been down on the left side but just cosmetic damage.
It has just over 10k miles on it, I bought it in March with 7k.
Also has brand new BT012's and a Yosh tri-oval slip-on. A full service was done 2000 miles ago at lee's.

I want to get either a 2003 or 2004 GSXR600, probably used though so that it's a little cheaper.

4 Sale already!?!? We haven't even seen you ride the thing yet!?! Oh and BTW-5k for a 2000 GSXR 600. . .uh not gonna happen. You'd be lucky to find a '02-'03 Gixxer 6 for 5k but not a 00. My .02

Yeah I've already put 3k miles on it, been to Palomar and Telegraph a few times and commuting back and forth to work.
Hmm...wish I could have found one for that price, would have bought an '02-03 instead of my '00. When I was looking before mine was the cheapest I could find without getting one from out of state, paid $4600 plus tax of course but then like I said paid just over $300 for a full service at Lee's and put new tires on it.

Yeah, you just have to be patient and keep networking. Don't mind me asking. . .
Question: What's wrong with the current gixxer you own now?!

Just thinking that I would like something a little newer, should have bought an '02-03 when I bought mine but couldnt find anything anywhere in my price range. Would love an '04 but no way could I afford that. =) Would just like something a little smoother, quicker and not quite so loud, and I would get that with a newer model. Guess I could always try and talk Nick into trading my bike for his but dont think that he would go for that. =)

I bet you could find somebody with the same model gixxer that would swap you their stock pipe for your aftermarket pipe in about 5 minutes.

have you taken it into a dealer to see what their offers are?

No I havent, but I know how they usually work where they offer you way less than it's worth and then sell it for twice as much.

You got to take in consideration that Nick's bike is a 750 and your's is a 600. The exhaust tones are different on a 600 compared to a 750 or 1000cc bike. "Fart pipes"-usally found on 600's dwindle away as you go up in cc's. Have you noticed that liter bikes don't have that Honda Civic Fart Pipe and 600cc sound to them.
Plus, I think you're gonna end up losing a lot of money if you sell it and then try to get a new Gixxer. I think those year gixxers have a lot if not enough power on tap.

just put new packing in the pipe, should be like 15 bucks, and you can order it from 2 brothers by the sheet. pipes need repacking, and im guessing that you never have done that

I think the retail is just over $4800, but I've never seen them listed that low, usually they ask about $6k. It's also yellow and black which is a little harder to come by.

4800 seems like a good price, only 200 less that you are asking, but oh so much more appealing because its under 5 gs,which is a cutoff for many people looking to buy used 600s

My friend is looking for a bike to buy in about two weeks...I'll run it by him, but I doubt he will give you more than 4500 for it. There is alot of competition for people trying to get rid of their used bikes these days!

How much faster are the 01-03 bikes compared to the 00? I think the 01-03s definately look better though -- don't have the bubble butt.

Just wanted to bump this up, it's still for sale. I would be willing to take an offer less than $5000, even though I still owe that much. Would be nice to save up what I'm making in payments and paying every month for insurance.
