Okay, so I'm probably the only beemer rider on this board and the only one who cares that BMW is ready to unveil its 160hp 1157cc I-4 sport-bike...so what!?!?
Anyways, you might as well take it for a test drive (Coming September 2004) just to see how it stacks up against your rides.

sweet...i have always liked the bmw bikes myself mostly becasue they never seem to conform to what others are doing but inovate in their own way. the bike is simple and is not all gimiky (sp?) and i like that as well. cool to see them try the sport bike world:clap:

Arnold, I've been hearing that since last year, but they've never had a bike that would seriously compete; this bike may be the real deal though.
Here's another pic of my next bike:

I heard they were working on fitting an M5 engine into the bike. Oh wait, I must have that confused with ALMS.

nice, but for some reason it looks too sport/touring like and heavy.

To get it out of the way, it is a sport-touring bike and it sucks @ss compared to the top-of-the-line racers of the big four. With that said, I am pretty excited to take a test ride after seeing this promo video (http://www.bmwk1200s.com/video/bmw_k1200s_duell_medialplayer_high.wmv), which was just released in Europe. The bike should be here in the States by the Spring, and I've read that it is most comparable to the 'Busa. We'll see.

P.S. As if anyone's interested, I've posted other pics in this thread (http://www.hypercycles.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3063).

You weren't far off! The rumors seem to have been true; for a preview of what the future BMW MotoGP entry may look like, check out this brief article from Cycle World (http://www.k12rs.com/BMW_MotoGPl.jpg).

It'll probably be a great performer. I wasn't so hot on the styling until I saw the video, but it's already grown on me. Seems like BMW's taken a lot of Aprilia styling-cues.
