Awesome, I think you can count me in for this one. I'm hoping we can get enough peeps to hook up some bro action. I've never ridden the big track, so I think the 3 group format would be good for me on this one. At streets I can hang in the race group, but big track seems a bit intimidating...Lookin' forward to it!

I'm in this time. No excuses. BTW, if my fiance comes, can you guys slow down when you pass me so it looks like I'm going faster? I guess it doesn't matter, when I get back to the pits I'll just act mad and look at my bike like something is broken.

So what are the major expenses for a trackday besides the cost of the track time??? How much money does it cost total to do a trackday. I want to do this one and the trackdaz event the next weekend at Streets. I can afford the tracktime, but what else should I expect?

Gratzy.

trackpimp
05-26-2004, 11:45 AM
okay gang.. Here's the Bro Deal for you guys. There needs to be a minimum of 10 of you in order to get it. And all the entries need to be sent in at the same time.

Price for the Willow Event (1 day, or both days) will cost you the same as a day at Streets of Willow. $115!!!!

Here's what you do. Designate 1 person to collect all the money. Once the money is sent, there'll be nobody else getting in on that deal.

THe deadline is July 10th or before the Trackday is Soldout. Yes, that means you could send an envelope with everyone's checks, or 1 big check by Saturday the 10th and you'll be fine.

See you guys at the track! GOOD TIMES TO BE HAD BY ALL!

-hopefully Shaggy, and Pete wont make me look so bad at the big track ;)

trackpimp
05-26-2004, 11:47 AM
ps.. if you're a WSMC licensed racer, the price is only $100 bucks!

"Price for the Willow Event (1 day, or both days) will cost you the same as a day at Streets of Willow. $115!!!!"

does this mean that we only pay $115 total for both days???

trackpimp
05-26-2004, 11:58 AM
$115 for just one day

or $230 for two days

sorry for the confusion.. I was saying you don't have to buy both days to get that deal ;)

If I go, I want to ride in the street group. That would be ok right Dustin?

Only thing that sucks about those days is that going to Willow at the end of July/August is like committing suicide. I need to condition myself by sticking my head in the oven for the month before. I don't know if my brother will go. He's a wuss when it comes to heat.

trackpimp
05-26-2004, 01:06 PM
come on Pete.. I'm a big fat guy. I can ride in the heat! you skinny little Girrly-man shoud be able to as well ;)

05-26-2004, 01:14 PM
That's it. The gloves comes off. No one calls me skinny. :-p Girrly part it fine though. Alright, I think I will go on Sat. I just have to check my Phamily schedule. Besides, I could always use the extra 10lbs that I will be sweating off.

Tres. Por favor.

speedster1219
05-27-2004, 01:58 PM
1) money for the trackday ($110 +)

2) money for hotel room ($45+)

3) money for transpo..(either gas money for someone or uhaul rental or truck rental..) ($ 40 - 180)

4) money for tires...(need good tires ) ($250+)

5) money for food and other nutrient rich products ($20)

6) money for accessories..(gas can, seats, shade, tools, tape..etc..) ($30-40)

these are just ballpark figures...

question, which track should i go to? this track day or the one on 8/7 (streets of willow)

hmmmm i can't do both due to low finance

Philo
05-31-2004, 11:46 PM
If it's your first trackday (mine too), Streets of Willow on 7th/8th is a slower more technical track and this one (the big track) is very large and fast. I'm going to the Streets so I don't cause other riders behind me (lapping me) to crash on my puddles of urine in the 130mph sweepers.

Awesome! See if you can borrow the trailer for Friday/Saturday.

You get a discount if you bring cash to BuyMoto, otherwise, you can pay trackdaz.com directly.

As for the pants, call Buymoto. They have the best prices and even better prices for Hypercycles members.

It would work, but the quality is lower and it makes it a LOT harder to edit because I have to convert it before importing it into my editing software. Thanks for the offer though Pete! I think I have a couple hook ups right now though so we should be ok. We'll get this battle on film this time!

Are you sure it's the carbs? Have you looked at them? What do the spark-plugs look like? Are the carb-diaphrams (sp) torn?

Bryant
06-10-2004, 12:07 PM
Pretty sure dude... can't think of anything else. I looked at them.. took them apart (well not completely), wiped it down with carb cleaner, shot compressed air through it to dry everything off and clean off any remaining debris...

The "carb-diaphrams" if I know what you are talking about are still good.. sparks are fine... man i took my carbs out twice already and lemme tell u.. it's been pretty time consuming to work on... but it definately feels for sure like it's the carbs that is causing the problems right now.

Philo
06-10-2004, 12:16 PM
Yeah, I'm pretty sure you've covered everything I could suggest with my experience. BTW, did you mean you're getting a nice fat blue spark, or the spark plugs look fine.....ie light tan, no oil/carbon/fouling/gas-soaked?

Is it surging/underpowered only in a certain RPM range? Like only low-mid RPM problems but high RPM is fine.

edit: BTW, I know you know 50 times more about this than me. Not trying to offend by asking questions......just trying to help. ;)

Bryant
06-10-2004, 12:55 PM
Well the problems are most noticeable below 6k rpm or so.. if I keep it above like 7-8k rpm most of the time it's actually not too bad. But I do remember trying to brake for turn 1 at WSIR and not being able to slow down since even with the throttle closed... the bike would not rev below 8krpm!!! YIKES! So i had to pull the clutch in and coast through turn 1 every single time. =( Got worse I guess as the day went on. Pads got glazed over pretty good.

It needs to go see Dr. Shaggy again. Still sick.. probably something we can fix by inserting some donor organs from another carburator. Throttle is also a bit messed up too... not sure how that happened?!

KC, this is from earlier in this thread......

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Me:
Are you sure it's the carbs? Have you looked at them? What do the spark-plugs look like? Are the carb-diaphrams (sp) torn?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bodmaster
Pretty sure dude... can't think of anything else. I looked at them.. took them apart (well not completely), wiped it down with carb cleaner, shot compressed air through it to dry everything off and clean off any remaining debris...

The "carb-diaphrams" if I know what you are talking about are still good.. sparks are fine... man i took my carbs out twice already and lemme tell u.. it's been pretty time consuming to work on... but it definately feels for sure like it's the carbs that is causing the problems right now.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Philo
Yeah, I'm pretty sure you've covered everything I could suggest with my experience. BTW, did you mean you're getting a nice fat blue spark, or the spark plugs look fine.....ie light tan, no oil/carbon/fouling/gas-soaked?

Is it surging/underpowered only in a certain RPM range? Like only low-mid RPM problems but high RPM is fine.

edit: BTW, I know you know 50 times more about this than me. Not trying to offend by asking questions......just trying to help.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Bodmaster
Well the problems are most noticeable below 6k rpm or so.. if I keep it above like 7-8k rpm most of the time it's actually not too bad. But I do remember trying to brake for turn 1 at WSIR and not being able to slow down since even with the throttle closed... the bike would not rev below 8krpm!!! YIKES! So i had to pull the clutch in and coast through turn 1 every single time. =( Got worse I guess as the day went on. Pads got glazed over pretty good.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Philo:
Almost sounds like a vacuum leak to me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Shaggy:
Bod, CALL ME. I didn't know your doing a track day THIS weekend! get me your bike tonight and I'll have it purring like a kitten by tomorrow afternoon.

are you running stock needles, any shims, what is the number of turns you are running at on the fuel mixture screws, also you should sync the throttle bodies, as that could be contributing to the problem.

it sounds too rich, bogging low but fine up high, i would take a quarter turn out of the mixture, or go with smaller jets, and open them up more.

either way, it shoudnt be too hard to fix, let me know, and i can come by and ride it to see if i can further diagnose the problem.

if shaggys on it thats cool, but if you want my help, just let me know

Hey Jeff, the wiring your oil filter isn't mandatory. So the only major thing you need is to drain your coolant and replace it with DISTILLED water and a couple of capfulls of Water Wetter-purchased at your local bike shop (looks like watermelon Kool Aid). If you go to bike night tonight, I can show what needs to be done. All you need is a couple of hrs at the most.
