tires

Hey!

I have some questiosn about tires. I am a new rider and have a 92' FZR600. I need to get new tires but dont know what kind to get. I was wondering if someone could give me some advice and maybe explain the numbering system for tires. Thanks!

First off, welcome aboard. I don't know what size tires your bike came with, but there are several members of this board who have/had your bike.

Example:

180/55-17

180mm - width
55 is ratio of sidewall height to width
17 - diameter of wheel

I currently have the following tires sizes on the bike:
F: 110/70ZR17
R: 150/60ZR18
Do I have to get these same sizes? If not, do you have any suggestions as to good tire size to get? Thanks.

Highly recommend you stick to the stock rim sizes.

If you have a an 18in, you have to get an 18 in no matter what.

You might be able but a 120/60 or 120/70 on the front, but it may not handle as well since the rim is .5 in thinner than a 120 rim.
