Tips...
I'm no expert at judging form based on a picture but it seems like you're not so much pivoting around the tank as you are sliding from side to side. It looks like you're really far back from the clip-ons and that you need to be kissing your mirrors which would mean you need to pivot around the tank. You want to be "off the bike" yes but you also want to get up on the front of the bike versus hanging off the side of it. For me, I find that when I'm "wrapped" around my bike, I feel more stable, more a part of the bike then just having myself hanging of in the middle of no where with the bike pulling me around the turn like a rollercoaster. Also, I have no idea what you're speed is and met-t (missision enemy time terrain; basically situation dictates action) does come into play but don't be afraid to get your ass cheeks off the seat as well although this may also have to do with your body position of sliding versus pivoting.
Then again, I'm by no means any racer. Never been to a track day, never been to a race school. Learned all that I know about riding sport bikes all from trial and error, watching MotoGP, and reading those 8 million articles on how to drag knee so take my statement with a grain of salt. Maybe some of these more experience people can futher your understanding of your riding position.

Yes, sorry to announce the defection, but I switched to team Honda for a day. That 600rr inspires confidence and speed. No worries: I return to the Yamaha with a clear perspective on the competition. Ponders buying Bryant's 600rr....
As for GPTechMan (http://www.hypercycles.org/forums/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=6) -- he was railing up the mountain because we had heard that Josh was on the side of the road, and I mistakenly reported that he had gone down. Doh! It doesn't matter, he's still a squid on the Vulcan! :-p

All I know is that Ducati Corse vented clutch cover had to have costed a pretty penny.

Yup, it's a 999 for those reasons you stated, including the headlights down the middle......... and it says 999 on the fairing :D
Bill, everything looks good dude. Can't see your left side, but everything looks good. The only reason you aint scraping knee is cuz your bike can lean a whole lot further!

Nah, I'm just kidding. I've never even been there. I just know people around here keep calling it the ghetto. I've been meaning to go check out the Bike Night down there. Sounds like a good time and really chill.
BTW, that's not me in the pic. Just hapened accross it today and thought it looked funny. :-p
