Mike (SuzukiRider22) and I are willing to help you repair your bike's transmission. With Mike's wealth of experience with motorcycle transmission repair and my assistance/tools/whatnot, we are willing to help fix your bike for a beer or two. Maybe some hot tea for me. ;)

We just need a place to work (which we'll discuss). We will first need to find a place to remove your engine... split the cases.. and examine the damage. At that point, we can determine which parts you will need. I have my factory Yamaha service manual which will be of some use to us too so we are pretty set. Just let us know if you are game for this.

Brothas helpin Brothas dude! We gonna take care of u! It's no fun to see one of our members sidelined with a bum bike!

Sorry to hear about your tranny bro. My sabre did the same exact thing and I didn't have second gear for a while.
I can't wait. I'm not sure yet but we may be able to do this at my house. I have an open 2 car garage with a big ass bench with most if not all the tools we'll need. We'll talk soon bro.

thanks so much for throwing out the lifesaver ring Bryant/Mike!:D

as for tearing the bike down, I have a 1 car garage but it's pretty full of bikes and a graveyard of parts and toys. I've got a descent amount of tools but nothing expansive.

Let me know when you guys are available so we can crack this baby open.

Just so you guys are aware.. this project may take about 2 weeks or so to complete. Main thing is we need a place to keep the chassis of Deno's bike for a while... we can remove the engine there and transport the engine to Mike's place where he has an engine "holder" thingy so we can begin work on the engine. Burst, if we can use a small space in your garage, that would be great. :) Lemme confirm with Mike....

Rip the motor out.

That's about as far as we can get this first day. no?

Bryant

That is correct!~ So u game for Sunday then?

That way we can try to get those parts asap for your transmission and you can be back riding again. :) Then all we have to worry about next is your carbs. :-p

Sure we should do a ride early Sunday to stretch our legs a bit and enjoy the good weather.. heck it's a rare chance indeed for me to ever get out for a ride since I'm so swamped with work these days. but I'd like to get home by at least 1pm and begin work on the bike. I'd estimate a total of 3 hours of work to get engine out and split cases. we need zip-lock bags, permanent marker, magnetic trays, etc.. to keep the parts separated ready. I have a magnetic tray we can use.

do you guys have a rear stand that leverages directly on the swingarm? My swingarm spool sheared off rendering my rear stand useless.

I can go buy a set of new spools by then if we can get the rest of the old bolt out of there.

hmm the replacemenet trany parts will cost up to 700 bucks so definetly look into it. If you get that trany and it's good this will be a two day job. :)

Yeah that's including replacing all bearings, c-clips, gaskets, gears, shift drum, etc...

May cost as low as 3-4 hundred, but that is to be determined...
