any other Hypercyclers into mountain biking?

I've been out of it for a while but trying to get back into riding the bicycle in the local canyons as of late. Need to get these scrawny legs back into shape before I crank up any real hills:ha:

bout to take off for a little ride right now

:D

I'm planning on doing some riding this week. You guys know any good singletrack round these parts. Was thinking about hitting up Cuyamaca but I think it'll be a bit nipply out in those elevations.

Let's try and ride on those days that our regularly scheduled rides get rained out. If you don't mind getting a little dirty:devil:

that's off the 52 freeway right?

That's where I've been riding the last couple days since I can ride there from my house. Some pretty easy trails and not much elevation change

I'm down with mtn biking - gotta make due with my 90's era hardtail. Not very pretty but I guess it does the job! Sure miss living in SD - but we have a lot of trails here in the Foothills if you want to drag your bikes out here. Keep me in the loop - if I feel like gettin out of town, I'll meet up with ya'll.

Gawd, it's been close to five to six years since I rode down there. I just remeber that there were a couple of places down there that onogixer and I used to ride at. One was off the 52....fairly flat and all fire trail. The other was a trail that went from the 15 to the 5 (the exact location will come to me after I wake up).....great trail and some single track I'll blow the dust off the bike if you guys want to set a date and time.

I THINK WE SHOULD DO THE SORENTO VALLEY TRAIL THAT GOES FROM THE 5 TO BLACK MTN ROAD I THINK IT IS. IT'S THAT PENASQUITOS CANYON ROUGHT. IT'S A 14 MILE ROUND TRIP AND IT'S NOT TO CHALLANGING OF A RIDE :)

Luck dawg! What's the hard-tail and the full sup?

That 14 mile stretch is pretty schweet and should be a lot of fun.

We'll meet at about 10 a.m at the west side of the penasquitos canyo. It is off of Sorrento Valley road. There is a big parking lot about a mile or so from the railroad tracks on the south side of the road. We'll meet there and ride. Bring a lunch and plenty of water.

In my biking years I built up two bikes. One is a full suspension xc/dual slalum bike (~5.5" total travel) and the other one is a hard tail (with front suspension) xc mtn bike.

rear tire isn't holding air... ?? it's leaking like a sive from the base of the valve stem (where the nut tightens against the rim) I inflated the tires two days ago and they were fine. I don't get it.

HondaRider22
01-10-2004, 03:28 PM
The valve stem is probably ripped at the base. Get a new tube and install it very carefully. I'll bring extra inner tubes and tools to the ride day. Or you can cruise on over to deno's place for the maintenance day thing tomorrow and after wards we'll be going over to my place and we can do it then.

Cool thanks Mike. My neighbor said he'd hook it up for me tomorrow. I just gotta go buy an inner tube.

...but Thanks!
