I gave you a tip????
man I was the slowest guy out there....just trying not to crash, hehe
yeah how many places have speed channel in the garage. I was also stoked on the weather, man it really makes a difference when you arent fatigued from heat

i don't think i've ever ridden that much for a trackday.
plus the no lunch break thing helped too.
it was frickin' awesome!

Not me...
I definitely think that this was a one or two time deal, cool facility but I like a little more elevation change

yea, remember... "don't break there nucka! it's all throttle modulation... " and the help with the chicane and the turn sequence heading up and off of the big straight... good stuff, thanks bro!

I hear ya, I'd like a lil more of that too, but the pavement was so choice lol and the green grass, the tv's, the double apex, delux garages, the speed, and the babes, oh wait... :errf:

OK there were a few dope turns especially the double apex, and a couple gnarly ones. I felt like the track was a little narrow on parts of the infield and harder to get around the outside with limited skills
but yeah the garage kicked ass and the pavement was icy smooth

I actually felt the track was not too narrow.. there were times when we would go FIVE-wide into the first double apex among other places.. PLENTY of elbow space. ;) The track had plenty of passing zones (to me at least) much more so than Streets of Willow; and CA Speedway has one of the best mixes of fast, moderate and slow turns including double apex, decreasing radius, chicanes, esses and heck.. even a high speed banking where you can really stretch the legs of your motorcycle! The *only* thing I felt lacking on that track was elevation changes in the infield section (although this wasn't really a big deal to me). But then again, every track has its strengths and weaknesses... except for the ones in Europe of course! Overall I would give this track a 9 out of 10 for the following key points:
1. Accommodations (Garages, TV's, Air and Electricity provided)
2. Plenty of run-off room
3. CLEAN REAL Bathrooms with SHOWERS!
4. There's GREEN GRASS decorating a California racetrack!!
5. Personnel are awesome and very professional (ambulance, crash trucks, and track staff)
6. Track located in an area where the weather is much better than most in the state!
7. Smooth, well groomed road surface (no potholes, tar snakes, etc)
7. Proximity to San Diego peeps.. very appealing!

I agree with all what bod says, but I do think that with all the amenities its still just a one or two time shot for a trackday considering the price.
One thing that I liked was all the track time even with the crashes. I do like the wera rules and it really helped with the flow for the day.
I did however NOT like how they had race group guys going in and out of group 2 and 3. Chris ulrich to name an example.
Good day and most importantly I DID NOT CRASH
Bryant
07-07-2004, 07:55 PM
Oh.. so yeah.. I was able to get into the low 40's and finally broke into the 1:39 range while I followed Chris Ulrich (most certainly during *HIS* warmup lap heheh)... still got a waaaays to go though.
