Not as impressive as other crash photos, but here are mine. I slid across 5 lanes of traffic at approximately midnight...

Front, looking down a bit.

Side. From what I recall, after the tank slapper, I was ejected from the bike and slid behind it on my back (don't ask me how I hit the ground, I have no idea), feet first while my bike slid on the tank and the front cowl. Then gravity brought the bike down and it started sliding on the engine case.
I guess the impact was so severe that the frame sliders/savers did not hold up.

A closer look at the engine case and slight scratches on the frame. Because the tank was damaged, and because the frame was possibly cracked, the bike was declared a total loss.

12,431 miles of bliss... 1 mile of carnage. (well, maybe only 1/2 mile... but then there was 1/2 mile of carnage on Latigo... so yeah, 1 mile of carnage).

Thanks, Arnold. It was the gear that really saved my ass. Here is the torn up jacket. Nearly ripped through the shoulders.

Not much damage to the helmet. I was curling my head forward (looking down through my feet) while I was sliding to try and see the bike. The slide marks continued on the left side panel and on the visor (I don't know how that happend).

The gloves I was wearing did not see much action. Just a small scratch. I believe I impacted the ground on mostly my left side, as that is what hurt the most. I thought I had re-fractured my left clavicle, and the emergency room confirmed my suspicions; but the next day my orthopedist said I had just aggravated the old injury, and cleared me to ride again within 2 weeks. ...and then I bought an R6!

Half an ouch Mike. :errf: The way they're transported your bike doesn't look too safe. . .

Yeah, that's exactly what I thought, but it was on there pretty secure and we made it back. That was a bad weekend, saw another group hit a deer going up to Julian and a car wreck on the way down.

I'm so glad you were wearing your leathers. And speaking of leathers when is the new suit coming in???
here is my 86 vfr after a lowside at palomar.
A shot of the ghetto rigged broken clipon that gp tech, mike and i rigged up so that i could ride the thing home. DO NOT ever do this, super sketchy! the clipon snapped in half so we splinted it together enough so that i could use the brake and throttle, but still couldn't put any weight on my right arm. I was super tired by the time we got back to Mira Mizzle.
Since then, i have fixed the bike and swapped out the rear tire for an cbr f2 tire so that i can run radial tires, on the stock vfr wheels, there were no radials available. Much better now.

Feels good to be right about the amount of gear you were wearing doesn't it?
