There will be a mandatory meeting for those of us going to Willow Springs on July 31. We will sort out the transportation and lodging needs for everyone along with other requirements and considerations for a fun, safe time out there. The meeting will be held a couple of weeks before the event so that early reservations can be made at the motels.

Date: July 18 (Sunday) - This is next, next Sunday.

Location: Casey's place

Time: 1 PM

Lunch is an option at this meeting depending on whether people bring goodies or a food fund is started. Everyone on the original track day list will get a PM with directions to Casey's house. If you're on the list but don't get a PM by tomorrow (July 9), please let me know right away.

I don't think he means it's absolutely necessary, especially if you have your own transportation and room.

Sorry guys but I can't make it either. I'll be out on a business trip and I've got lodging and tranportation covered for that day. See you all there!!!

No offense taken nor intended. I put it as mandatory to make sure that those of us who don't have transportion/lodging arrangements show up to get those issues sorted out along with a few others like food and fuel. It makes things a lot easier when everyone is in one place instead of having to communicate through threads. If you and the people that you're going with already have everything arranged, then you don't have to come to the meeting although it would be nice to have you there.

Because I probably won't be able to make the meeting, here is what I have to say:

If you see a guy on a black R6 wearing yellow leathers (either a yellow or grey helmet), feel free to pass him wherever the hell you want, but be careful at turn 1 because said rider is a wuss and pussies out at the start/finish line and goes into turn 1 way too slow, and usually exists hugging the inside of the turn. Also watch out in turns 4b and 5 because he has no line through those turns and tries a different line practically every lap.

Hopefully, my front tire will stay planted through turn 2. Am I supposed to raise or lower the forks in my triple to keep it planted? And is that raising or lowering the front end of the bike? I get so confused about these terms, so I will state it like this: let's say stock setting is 50 mm between the top of the fork and the top of the triple; what should I change that measurement to?

drop it 5mm and see how you like it.
(meaning lower the front of your bike by adding distance of 5mm above the tripples)

i like lowering the front and rasing the rear, but if braking gets too harry back it off a bit

*ill be the really big guy trying to go way to fast on the strights, and way too slow in the corners :squid:

Thanks, Casey! I will go out and buy a ruler, and make the changes, soon.
