Help me choose a track bike!

I Have a 2003 R6 and would rather not take a risk at laying her down at a track day. So What do you guy recomend for me? Im 5 foot 3 inches, yeah Im short. Looking for something light and smaller than my R6. I use to ride a gs500 and I think that would be a good size(bikes body size). Looking at some 400-600cc bikes. Maybe even some 250 2-strokes. I would like your oppinions and experiences with your track bikes.

Is there still a track ready R6 for sale at buymoto? That sounds like your best bet. Either that or just be the coolest kid on the block and get the Aprilia RS250.

I don't think height means anything really on the track unless you're too tall to tuck under the windshield on the straights. They had french guy racing the 24 hr. Le Mans who couldn't touch the ground at all and had to have his team hold up the bike so he could get it started out of pit row. The man was Napoleonic sized and his team won.

Its not about reaching the floor or anything. If I had an extra R6 then I would be more than happy to use it as a track bike. I just like the feel of a lighter bike witch is most likely a smaller bike. The Aprilia 250 is nice. Im actually looking at a NSR250 and a TZ250 if I decide on a 2-stroke. I rode a Kawasaki KR1 250 and it was nice. I wasnt use to the throttle at that time but I still had fun.
Key factors at what Im looking for: weight, size, power, parts availability, aftermarket support and price.

In my case... I just can't stand to see that suzuki eatin' GPTECHMAN passin' beauty of a machine sitting in a garage on a trackday! R6 is the shizzle :) :headbang:
