I'm not new to motorcycles, grew up riding dirtbikes and shared a bedroom with a harley from the age of 6-12. I've only had one streetbike and it was a few years ago. I've never had a "sportbike", my only streetbike was a Honda Shadow 750. A friend that I work with (deacon on hypercycles) brought me to a bbq at La Jolla Shores a week ago. I met some great people and saw some really nice bikes. I was given a whole bunch of suggestions based on the things I told them I liked. I've narrowed the field down to just a few bikes. My first and foremost, is the Ducati Monster S4R, I fell in love with it and it is my #1....but so expensive. Second, I'm partial to the Yamaha FZ6, and third I like the Suzuki SV's. What I'm asking here is if anyone has any opinions on the Yamaha or Suzuki.

Thank You again to all the people that I met at La Jolla Shores.

i have not heard much of the fz6 unfortunatley but have seen several on the raod and they look nice. as far as the sv goes it is a great bike and you can do a lot with it if you want. the best part is the sv is cheap to get and cheap to insure if you are low on cash, and they are easy to get. i would try to find some reviews on the fz6 cause i dont know anyone that owns one but plenty of people here will tell you they love their SV. the sv is a 2 cyclinder and the fz is a 4 cyclinder so the sv makes low end power and torque whiel the fz will be high end power so that could help your decision in what type of motor you would rather have. i say try to get a test ride on both and see which one suits you.

oh yeah and welcome aboard:rockon:
