I am dying to get on a track and see exactly what my 250 can do in a non-threatening environment, but being new to the sport and it being almost 20 years since my husband has done any racing, I have no idea what to expect or how it works.
I see by the link that there is the option of Novice, but on this particular day do they seperate the rider levels or is it just a free for all?
Convince me it is 'safe' and I just may convince my husband to go.

Oh yeah! I felt like I started feeling it later on when 1)my tires were roasted and 2) when fatigue started kicking in
Thanks for the clearification-I meant Sept 4th! I already got tires and my steering head bearings! (thanks to Buymoto) so chain n sprocket are the only things I need!
I want to hit up Willow Sept 4th and Pahrump Nov 13th and 14th!
Hopefully the '05 Tacoma will be out and about! ;)

"Intermediate Group: This group is for people with enough track time that they are comfortable at an accelerated riding pace up to the beginning racer. Riders in this group will probably want to focus heavily on body position, setting up for turns, the racing line, and advanced throttle/braking control. Instructors will be available upon request whenever possible. Safe passing is permitted with at least 6 feet space cushion. The track tempo is intermediate to fast. No licensed racers permitted in this group unless cleared by Sportbike Track Time Staff. Riders in this group MUST wear a back protector."
I think you'll be alright! I noticed when some of the Race Group came out, I kind of picked up the pace. Same might hold true for you!
P.S- Make sure you get a back protector. . . and perhaps a CHEST protector too   especially after what happened at Fontana!

Lesson learned, never take home a stray kitten. Get one from the pound that is healthy, fixed and has their shots.
