I don't know but here's what I'm planning for...
race license and school: 200 (once a year)
race entry fees 200
tires 300
gas (bike and truck) 75
hotel/food 100
thats before you crash...
I've already spent a grip on spare parts: rearsets, clip-ons, bodywork, subframes, fairing stays...beter to be prepared!
gas and hotel can be broken down with friends but entry fees and tires alone are 5 bills every month...this shiet's expensive...
then you gotta think of all the one time costs getting started:
bike prep: suspension, bodywork, power...power
tire warmers, canopy for the pits, tools, generator, trailer...
you coming racing with Jiggy and I techman???

To race with WSMC... the breakdown can be viewed as follows:
The first weekend's fees boil down as follows:
WSMC yearly membership: $120
New racer's school: $100 (you only need to do this ONCE only if you do not already possess a racing license)
Sunday racing: $70
Food: I don't count food $$$ cuz u gotta eat/drink whether you want to or not every single day.
Gas (for bike only - pump 91): $20
New race tires: $280-$320/set
Novice racers can typically run one set of race tires every 3-5 race weekends. Your average tire cost per race weekend will be about $75/weekend. Races are sprint races (typically 6 laps only). If you advance out of novice, you can do the Solo GT series or possibly race in the Formula 1 or F-2 categories (20 laps, 12 laps, 10 laps respectively). Doing the longer races will require that you change out your tires at least once every two race weekends. Tire life also depends on how you ride and how powerful your bike is... the more powerful your bike is, the less life you'll get from your tires.
If you do all the Saturday practice sessions, you'll probably want to have your tires changed every 2-3 race weekends.
So for a novice racer.. I'd say total cost is about
$120+$100+$70+$20+$75 = $385 for your VERY FIRST DAY.
After that.. you will only need to worry about the entry fee, gas and tires.
So it will break down to $70+$20+$75 = $165 / weekend
If you do Saturday practice sessions... add $70 to that total.
Expert class racers.. if you enter 3 classes of racing (ie. 600SS, 600MP, 600SBK) you will pay $70 for first entry and $50 for each additional class entered. Your average tire costs will probably be about $150 to having a fresh set every race weekend. Typically racers sell their take-offs after 1-2 race weekends to offset tire bills (low mileage race take-offs would make great trackday tires).

I would highly advise that you have medical insurance before considering racing!

Hope this helps!
I used to camp out at the track to save on lodging costs and for convenience. Might do that a few times next year as well.
