Anybody interested???

$165 per day. Saturday and/or sunday.
OPEN TRACK!!! No sessions. Enter and exit the track as you please all day long. Limited to 30 riders per day.

I've heard this track is used ONLY for motorcycles, not cars, so it's supposed to be glass smooth.

November 14th is my birthday, so there's your excuse. We could fill this up with Hypercyclers mang. Come on!!!

uhh, not to spoil anybody's fun but you might wanna check out socaltrackdays information before you get all excited. They require trackday experience (not just one day at the track, prefferably a riders school...) before they will let you sign up. might wanna give em a call and find out if you can sign up before making any plans.

P.S. I've heard there not very considerate of track newbies...

Got an email from Mike Gustin @Socaltrackdays! We should be all right! I'm used to getting passed for that matter!

Hello,
We cater to the intermediate and advanced riders. Our only requirement is
previous track experience. We don't have sessions and we don't have groups.
The track is green/open all day for all riders except a 30 minute lunch
break. I would say that if you have done at least 2-3 previuos track days
and are comfortable being passed and holding your line, you should be ok.
We can work with you and show the correct lines to get you up to speed.
We have only sent one guy home in two years for being too slow!
I hope all this info helps?
Thanks,

Mike Gustin

wait..how does this work.. i know the track can only have 30 riders on it at any time. does this mean that there is a limit of 30 bikes that can register. cause if there are more than 30. they might have to wait a long ass time for their turn to get on the track. ANyone know?

GPTECHMAN

30 riders all day...no sessions go on and off as you please

powerban

according to the site. they are only allowing 30 bikes to register for the whole day. no more. so there is no wait if you wanna get on the track. you dont have to wait for a rider to get off so you can get on.

I just got this email from socal trackdays... looks like we lose about an hour of track time.

Greetings,

As many of you know, ownership of the track in Pahrump changed hands in June ’04.

The new owner, John Morris, CEO of Radical West (www.radicalwest.com), purchased the track to continue the advanced driving school and assist with the sale of his amazing Radical sports cars. Mr. Morris, and the track staff we have known for several years, has been most gracious and helpful with the transition. However, we will need to make room in our track schedule to accommodate the drivers of the Radical sports cars. Essentially, we will be required to allot 2 hours (in 30 minute blocks) per day for any car drivers wishing to share the track. Following is the schedule we will use when car drivers are present. All riders need to be at the track by 0815 for the Rider’s Meeting and because the front gate will be closed at 0830 when the Radical cars begin their session. It should be noted that this new schedule results in a net loss of 1 hour of riding time from our previous format. This is because the Radical cars will have the track before our normal start time (0830-0900) and will run during our lunch break:

0700 – 0800 Gates open/Registration

0815 – 0900 SoCal Rider’s Meeting (normal time)

0830 – 0900 Front gate closes Radical cars on track

0900 – 1030 SoCal on track (90 minutes, normal start time)

1030 – 1100 Radical cars on track

1100 – 1230 SoCal on track (90 Minutes)

1230 – 1300 Radical cars on track/SoCal Lunch break

1300 – 1430 SoCal on track (90 minutes)

1430 – 1500 Radical cars on track

1500 – 1600 SoCal on track (60 minutes); last period of the day.

1600 – 1700 Clean-up; track closes.

We will still use our no-session format during our time on the track. We believe a 90 minute block will still provide you with ample time to achieve your riding goals. It is important to stress two points: First, this schedule will be effective only if Radical drivers are present. If no drivers sign up to drive, we will use our current no-sessions format for the entire day (we anticipate there will be no car drivers signed up for our October events; however we can expect to see cars in November). Second, the above schedule is planned to be temporary. A northern extension of the track is on schedule to be completed in early 2005. When that new section of track is completed, the track will operate as two independent sections. We will then be able to resume our present no-session format on the 2.2 mile track we currently use.

I would be remiss if I did not tell you that the only reason Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch (the new name) has been so willing to work with us is because of you. Your professionalism, conduct and concern for the facility are the reasons why SoCal Track Days will be one of only two motorcycle organizations operating at this fantastic track. Thanks!

Since this new format changes our existing no-session format we have decided to temporarily amend our current refund policy. For riders registered for our October and November events we will issue refunds to riders who do not wish to participate in the new format. These refunds will be available until October 8, 2004. After that date, all riders registered for our October, November, and future events will be governed by our current refund policy (see www.socaltrackdays.com to see current refund policy).

Thanks for continuing to ride with SoCal Track Days. Ride smart, we’ll see you at the track!
