My favorite ride would definitely have to be this road. Take the Scripps Poway Parkway exit off of the 15 and take it all the way to the end. After you hit Poway and pass a couple of lights, the road becomes 3 lanes on each side and you can really let the throttle open up. After you hit the end of the road, take a left onto the 67 and follow the road all the way into Ramona (it turns into the 78). At Ramona, you can fuel, get something to drink or just chill, and then the real fun begins. Take the 78 all the way to Santa Ysabel and you'll get some awesome mountain curves! Some good opportunities to pass people as the double yellow becomes dotted for some parts.
Although what I would like to try is the 74 all the way up by Lake Elsinore. Anyone ever take that road? How is that?

Try taking 15N to Pomerado Rd,exit freeway and turn right.Take 1st left onto Highland Valley Rd,it is twisty with some gnarly off camber turns,be cautious on your first run thru there. After you're thru the twistier stuff you'll pass a school on your right and hit a 3 way intersection. Turn left and continue down the straight, round the 90 degree right and then the 90 deg left and continue straight on until you hit the 67. Turn left at the intersection and head into Ramona.
Head thru Ramona and eventually you'll se a Sizzler restaurant on your right, take the right turn after their parking lot and you'll be heading towards Old Julian Highway. You'll go thru residential areas and then head into some more open areas,as you round a right that heads down into a dip theres a left turn between the trees for Old Julian Highway, take that and enjoy, again,on your first run thru be cautious.Take it all the way to the end and it'll dump you back on the main road out to Santa Ysabel.
Enjoy.
It is WAY more fun than just gassing hard down the straight sections of Scripps Poway Parkway.
