ok i picked this up off of SCS so if you have not seen it i thought it would be wise to post it here. a car blew a tranny and dumped fluid on a good portion of the mountain ....

---------------~~~~~~~~~~~~~~---------------------------------

" PALOMAR 9/3 late pm Tranny Oil Spill tight side, long and slippery!

WARNING WARNING WARNING

Lots of TRANSMISSION FLUID OIL on PALOMAR, from first turn up to almost lower lookout (one turn down from long straightaway-ish section)

Was there at 3pm yesterday, last run up truck and camper rig dumped ALL of his tranny fluid between the two points mentioned above. Very slick, lost my front wheel turn 1, stayed up, slid both wheels turn two, realized oil was the problem as the sunlight lit up the foot wide trail of fluid. THIS SLICK CONTINUED ALL THE WAY UP TO THE GUY. Caught up to the guy, Steve btw, where he was pulled over, truck smoking big time under the hood. He didnt know what the problem was, I told him , he looks under the truck, red river of fluid pouring out its last little bit.

Drove up to Fire dept, they got on it, called CHP, saw them pulling in as I was leaving..........such a long strip of oil though...Im worried that they cant clean it all up well enough. I hope they do.

Just to be safe,,,,,,,,,,WATCH OUT ON LOWER SECTION, big stripe right up the middle of the road. USE EXTRA CAUTION Please, pass it on."
