The jackets don't look too bad, if I was simply a passenger, I might wear the chaps, but my main concern is that the jackets don't appear to have very good armor.
Cute style, but I'm afraid that it wouldn't provide as good protection in the event of an accident.

Aren't there any good women's gear? I have a Joe Rocket women's jacket, but it look's just like the men's jacket. I am wanting to find a good set of one piece leathers, or even two piece with full zipper, but haven't been able to find any in women's.

You should be able buy the armor seperately and stick it in the Icon jackets. That is if they have the pockets for armor on the inside. Can verify that they do? I think ICON gear looks pretty good, but their armor is crap. Like 1/4 inch thick foam pad.

Only problem is that you can't purchase the pants and jacket separately.... One of my female friends who just got into riding was looking to do this and she wanted to buy the jacket to start as funds were shy due to buying the bike among other issues. What's the deal with that? I think you can buy the fella jackets separately... anyone know any different?
That site is kind of misleading if you can't because that girl pictured here....
http://www.alpinestars.com/_lp/jackets/img_grlbeach.jpg
....Is wearing the TZ-1 jacket (which can presumably only be purchased in the form of a wo-piece suit and the "4W Cat" pants.... something's a foot...

this is true, cant buy ladies tz-1 jacket only, i had to buy the set but hey at least i didnt have to invest in a suit as well ;)....although, if u buy the men's jacket separately, it looks different--it doest have the a* in the middle, its off to the side
the dyno and v4 ladies jackets can be bought solo and they are both really cute :)

Yea, women don't have much choice in leathers selection, but those icon jackets look pretty cool. I don't believe Icon has started selling their new 05 line yet, but once they do, I'm pretty sure Buymoto will have the lowest prices on them anywhere.
Hopefully manufacturers will make more women's apparel. It's not that stores don't want to carry women's stuff -- it's because manufacturers won't make the women's apparel.

I think ICON is fine for street wear and some medium intensity riding. The funny thing is I see guys getting ballsy in jeans where the ICON clothing definitely provides better protection. I do like the blue/white jacket for the women IMO. I may pick it up for the wife.

I'd wear the suit (minus the fringe), the only thing about the ladies jackets is that they usually don't go down as far and I heard a story once of another girl crashing and getting her back and side torn up because the jacket was so short it didn't stay down. Plus jeans are so low rise nowaday that if you have a short "girl's jacket" the whole world sees your thong. I got my leathers made custom (it really isn't all that much more expensive)

Any time honee, (i spell with double Es) About bike night, it's all good gurl. Urgent Care will do you like that...but as soon as you contact your PCP and you tell them you were in UC and were advised to be seen within days by the MD, that's when your PCP will see you (if they're booked months in advance) I'm sure we'll hear all about it soon. Yeah...I thought about the same thing.I used to ride early in the morning...and for some reasons, here, in Sorrento Valley it's ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!! foggy in the morning.I could not see a 20 feet in front of me.And riding at 50-70miles/hour....you need to be as visible as posible.I'm lucky, I have been living in Mira Mesa and using the same route to work, for over 9 years..and I can freakin' ride blindfolded..if I try hard. When I got here, I had no car and used to ride my bike to work every day to La Jolla.DAMN I was in good shape for a year:-)))).I'm sure the vest goes easy over any jackets.
Not a bad product...and you can put your badge in the pocket for easy access.
I'm sure you guys can buy it.It's available everywhere where it sells ICON apparel. Like: www.BuyMoto.com If not in stock....easy to order:-)))))

Yep, seen all that gear in person already by the Parts Unlimited Rep. Cool stuff, only thing I liked was the vest. The jacket was certainly nice, and I would only dig the chaps on GPTECHMAN without anything under.
How much is the vest and those shinguard things?
Wonder if Icon actually asked the military whether that vest meets regulations.

I got to admit, I do like the chaps... but I do agree with you, Nenna, on the fact that there is not enough women's gear. When you're on a bike though, don't you want to be flashy? So people in cars will notice you and won't run you down? That's the whole point of the brightly colored helmets, no?

This is the exact reason why I am in the process of starting my own business creating top of the line gear for female riders. Obviously, the riding industry doesn't take women seriously enough. They think we only want to look hot when we ride....they don't realize that women don't need chaps and sky blue jackets to look sexy on a bike...we already do.
However, I like my body in tact...so the only way to get something done the right way is to do it yourself.
If any of the ladies have suggestions about what they would want in a suit or jacket....please feel free to chime in.

Hey girls, I have the Icon Kitty jacket in black and I absolutely love it! I don't think it's flashy at all, I think they did a cute job designing it. They might have gone overboard with the chaps and the painted on gun holsters. We are riding bikes here, not horses... I don't know why some people look down on Icon, it has plenty of armor and protection.
My favorite thing about it is that it's actually cut to fit a girl. You know, we have boobs, curves... I tried on other brand leather jackets (Alpinestar, JoeRocket) that were Women's styles, and I guess they think girl's bodies go straight down from the shoulders or something, because that was how they fit me. It ends up forming a big baggy bulge around your waist/tummy area when you are bending over to reach the handlebars. The Icon is cut to nip in around the waist so it's actually form-fitting and probably safer in the event of a fall.
R6Chick, that is really cool that you are starting a women's gear line. I think the most important thing is the fit, and Icon was the only brand I came across that seemed to get that part right. And you're right about the colors... I don't know what production bikes come in baby blue and pink, makes it really difficult to coordinate with the bike. Your line should definitely stick with your basic reds, blues, yellows, black/silver, etc.

Hey Tara? Icon Kitty ...again:-))))
Asian Barbie...you're right! If you look good and the jacket fits well...that's all that matters.I like the Icon gear.Specially, the new stuff now...And girls? They always have the best selection in every store...I guess, they seam to shop a lot more than guys do.
