Greetings and salutations! I'm Mike Wu, your Track Day Coordinator for Fall 2004. This thread provides information for our track day.

Here are the remaining west coast track days for 2004: http://www.biketweakers.com/trackcalendar_2004.html

THE TRACK:
I have made the decision to go to Thunderhill this semester. It is the closest track to us aside from Infineon and Laguna Seca. But Infineon is out of the question because the remaining track days are in late Nov and Early Dec. You will agree with me when you see the $80 price difference as well. Laguna is expensive too, and probably too late to sign up now. T-hill it is.

THE DATE:
September is too soon for everyone to get prepared, and December is too late for us to edit the film/videos in time for the end of semester. So we will consider October and November. You will notice that most of the days lie on a weekday. Sorry, but that's the way it works. Only one Saturday selection.

Pacific Track Time offers Oct 18 (Monday) and 19 (Tuesday) for $180.

Pacific SS Riders offers Oct 27 (Wednesday) for $190.

Keigwins @ the Track offers Nov 9 (Tuesday) for $150, but slowest group is B-.

Zoom Zoom offers Nov 19 (Friday) and Nov 20 (Saturday) for $180.

The advantage of going earlier is less chance of running into rain. More rain in Nov. There are no refunds due to weather, so we'll have to ride on a wet track. The disadvantage is that we'll have to go on a week day. The only weekend day is Sat Nov 20.

What I need from you is to cast a vote on which day works for you, choose as many days that you can go as you can. Majority rules. Please do not vote if you aren't seriously planning to go. Only active members votes will be considered in the decision. So if you haven't paid your dues, please contact Darren at darren@themontgomerys.com, DarrenMontgomery04@mba.berkeley.edu, or 510.390.6632 to arrange payment by 9/25. Poll will be open for two weeks from today, so please review your calendar carefully before you cast your vote.

THE PLAN:
Get there the night before track day (2-2.5 hrs drive) and stay at a hotel/motel. We will rent as many trailers as necessary. Have a kick ass time at track day, then drive home the same day. We share all trailer rental and hotel costs.

PREP:
We'll get togther some time right before track day to prep our bikes and talk about what we need to bring. Also the suspension workshop and riding technique workshop will be given before track day as well. I will send out a check list of things you need once we've decided which track day organization we are going with.

BARF DISCOUNT:
If you do not have an account on Bay Area Riders Forum (BARF) yet please do yourself a favor and make an account there and post at least once. Zoom Zoom and Pacific Track Time both give BARF members discounts. See http://www.bayarearidersforum.com

That's it for now, will update you as things develope, check back here regularly, don't forget to vote!

Mike

It looks like these two dates can accommodate most people:

WED OCT 27TH or
SAT NOV 20TH

We will not consider NOV 19TH since it's a Friday, and we might as well go on a Sat at that point.

Reply to this thread ONLY IF YOU CAN DO ONE OR BOTH OF THESE DAYS. INDICATE WHICH DAY(S) YOU CAN GO (PUT YOUR FIRST CHOICE ON TOP), YOUR NAME, EMAIL, AND PHONE NUMBER BY SUNDAY OCT 3. DO NOT REPLY IF YOU ARE NOT PLANNING TO GO. YOU MUST REPLY IF YOU DO WANT TO GO

After OCT 3 point I will tally up the votes and call the perspective track organization to see how many spots are left. Then I will get a final commitment from you guys! Thanks for reading and being cooperative, it makes my life much easier.

Mike
