So I just took my bike into Alba for it's 4K service. I was gonna have the guys install the crank case that I'd scratched, but the guy talked me out of it and said that those crankcase covers get scratched all the time.
He said that what I instead really need for the R6 is a steering dampener. He recommended GPR, but said Scotts is good also. I told him I'd have to check with my consultants first... so here I am :-p
My question to y'all is should I get it? Who has it? Does it make a huge difference for you?

I just recently purchased a GPR damper from Bryant at BuyMoto, very good price by the way! And it makes hella difference! bike tracks so much smoother! definitely worth the investment. As to which one to choose, I chose GPR cuz they have different colors and they are a locl San Diego business, Scott's dampers have a little more fine tuning adjustments (unless you track your bike I doubt you will use all the adjustments), and is a little smaller, but only comes in anodized gold. just my 2 cents

Cool thanks man... do you change settings when you go from high speed to lower speeds (like say at a stop light after coming off the freeway)? Or do you always keep the same setting. Just curious as to how often you adjust it.

Most people keep it at the same setting. The GPR's are really easy to adjust I believe. Just turn a small lever until you have it at the setting you want.
A stabilizer is important for a R6... I'd rather get one of those than a new engine cover, cuz if you go down again, the cover will probably get scratched up again. BUT, if you're gonna get a new cover, go with an aftermarket one like NRC, which are way more durable.
