It's aobut 1/4 mile to the gas station to fill up that front tire. Would it damage the front rim?

stay on your rear wheel :D
nah, i would do it,it's only 1/4 mile. i can't see that hurting your rim at all, just take easy.
think about it, unless you have your bike up on stands right now, it's allready on the rim,if you coast to the gas station what's the difference?

I wouldn't do it man. Just get someone with a handy dandy car-air compressor thingy and fill up the tire where it is right now. Riding on a flat front can damage your rim... possible types of damage: stress fractures or cracking which can cause your rim to fail while riding (I have friends who have actually witnessed a stock rim disintegrate while one of our friends was braking at 170mph for turn 1 at WSIR), dents which can cause air to leak or wheel instability, twist or bend which can cause the wheel to be unbalanced resulting in unsafe riding conditions... no. Don't do it if you can help it. Just get one of those plug in the cigarette lighter air pumps! This way, you don't have to risk "denting" your head too on the way to the gas station!!!

dammit, such a hassle for a stupid flat... I don't even know if the tire will leak again or not... thanks for the info though

Hey Jeff, if you're only a quarter mile away from a cas station why don't you walk the bike their or buy one of the Fix-a-flat things.

I would stay away from those Fix-a-flat things because when you take the rim in for a new tire the whole thing leaves a nasty mess. I'd have to say this stuff is for dire emergencies only. My vote goes to the plug in to the lighter air compressor thing a ma bobbers. I got one from Wal-Mart for $15.00. It's slow (and I mean s.....l.....o.....w) but it gets the job done.

Don't have a bicycle pump or I would've tried it! I tried blowing into it, but it just made me really tired and left black grime around my mouth.

Sean, can I borrow your pump sat?!
