Last night I picked up an 84 Kawasaki GPz 750 from a friend. He got it from a friend of his with hopes to restore it, but never got around to it. It sat for 2 years. Changed the oil, plugs, and fuel and with a little trying it started up. It still needs a new battery before I can ride it.

The chain feels loose, and I'm not sure how to tighten it. The choke is very touchy, too. The bike seems to either idle at 4k or 1k, at which point it sometimes stumbles and dies. I got to the cycle shop right as they were closing, so I didn't have a chance to pick up a new battery today, but once I do I'll see how it runs after putting a few miles on it.

Nice ride though mang! One of my buddies has a 1981 KZ 650... I LOVE that bike LOVE IT!.... He had some idle issues with his too and he just rejetted it an dput K&N filters on it and it was a dead and alive difference... quite literally.

Sweet bike! Did you decide on gear yet?

Yeah, I was going to call buymoto to check prices, I just live in east county, so this place was nearby.

Here's a picture of it.

The PO set it down on Palomar so it needs a mirror and turn signals. I'll probably just get some generic flush mounts and install those. It'll be due for a rattle can paint job too since it has some overspray from something being painted right next to it.

I picked up my battery yesterday, and got to ride around on my culdisac. Bike's just a little rough when cold, but I'm impressed at how well it rides. I've only topped maybe 20mph in second (speedo is broken) but it shifts smoothly and the drivetrain seems fine. And here is the ultimate squid pic:

Yes, that is a bicycle helmet, but I figured its better than nothing. When I get a hold of my friend, I'll borrow his helmet, and ride it around my neighborhood. It's still not registered or inssured and I just bought my gear at BuyMoto last night, so it's coming in on tuesday.

 What gear did you end up getting?
Just slap a Shoei sticker on your bicycle helmet and you're good to go!

Teknic Chicane jacket, Teknic violator gloves, icon recon denims and a Shoei TZR helmet. Jae really helped me with picking the stuff out, too.
