Sharing Parking Meters

Are we allowed to scoot our bikes in between cars and mooch off of someone else's paid parking meter? Is that considered double parking?

no. you can share the parking space.
but if the meter runs out, both of you can be ticketed.

Thats correct. I parked at a meter between two cars one time and the car in front of me left, meter expired and I got a ticket. Its also your responsibility to make sure theres time on the meter (in front).
