how long do the stock brake pads tend to last? my brakes started squealing and i have 3k miles on them.

hmm,... i bet that they still have enough on them,...why not take them out, clean everythig, sand the rotors with 400 wet/dry paper,....should bring them back to life if there is still meat on them...

or you could upgrade to some new HH pads :)

Just FYI I have an 03' R6 and put the ebc HH sintered brake pads on at about 12,000 miles. My stock pads still had plenty left so I kept them as spares. But I tend to use a lot of engine braking.

pds on my sv lasted till i sold it, almost 10000 miles,....pads on the r1 felt like *@#$*@#$*@#$*@#$ distinctly at 7000 miles.

my rr has about 2500 miles and the pads are more than half gone,...by far the fastest wearing pads ive seen so far.
