Yeah, she is. She told me she met a guy that rides on her weekend and passed along this site.
I've been outta biking for like 3 years, and now that I have a bike again I don't know anyone else that rides. Came up to a light with a guy on a new Z1000 the other day and tried to start up a conversation, but I think he thought I was hitting on him.

Thanx much. All the reviews I read on the Hawk before I got it complained it just wasn't sporty enough, but man I just love it. Not sure how well it'll fit in with the group, but the V-twin just loves mountain roads.
Now, if I could just keep that front wheel planted... :D

Hi there, here is a German chick!
My name is Andrea and I met a guy this morning at the post office in Mira Mesa and he told me to check out this site (Sorry buddy, I forgot your name)! I have been riding for about 8 years with some breaks in between. I started with a Yahama DT 80, upgraded later to a Honda SLR 650 (probably nobody knows this one! HA!), and now I have Honda Shadow VT700, which is my only transportation (I don't have a car...), so I am looking for any possibilities to ride "for pleasure" ;-)

Welcome from a fellow Newbie forum puke.
Alright....so I'm walking out of ChopStix in Clarmont Mesa into the rain and GPTECHMAN starts talking to me about my bike...his bike and about this cool forum. So, so here I am...my name is Marc (see screename), go to UCSD (SE Major), graduating this year (gonna probably then get my masters at SJSU), been riding constently since the summer, use my bike for commuting and a little fun (GSX-R600 only b/c I got a killer deal on it...was perfectly happy on my EX500 actaully). I don't ride twisties all that much as i have no real time...but would eventually like to start...anyone want to adopt a squid (on a bike that is possibly too fast for him...but he just can't tell yet)?? Well, actaully that's about it...hello everyone.

Maybe Palomar will be freshly repaved with perfectly cambered, smooth asphalt by the time you get back. And they'll stop allowing cars on the mountain. And Mother's will hire paddock girls with umbrellas to bring drinks while you sit on your bike. Maybe I'll be a good rider by then, too.

I'm sure I could learn a lot from all you experienced riders and it'd be cool to meet up with ya'll sometime. I've only been riding for about 8 months and I'm a mellow rider-no tricks or aggressive riding. I'd like to go to superbike school but I'll have to save up some money for that later. Philo: I'd like to to go to CSS within this year but it's a bit expensive for me right now...been jobless for a couple months now. Let me know when you're planning on going and I'll see if I've saved up any $. The ZX-6R is the 636 right? I feel my bike is more than enough for me...for now. When I'm more experienced, I'd love to get an R1 or maybe an RC51. That'll be a few years from now anyway....
Arnold_R1: Yeah, I made it onto the site. Thanks for telling me about it. Like I told you, I ride alone (or 2 up with my gf) because I'm really slow compared to all of you and I'd probably just get left behind like the one and only time I rode with an experienced aquaintance with a 636. I just need a lot more ride time-experience.
I have bowling league Thursdays but I'll try to make it out to bike night tonight (3/11) and other future events. If there are a ton of bikes/people out there, how will I find you all?

It would be a stretch for me to afford this year, too, but I'm going to try. BTW, I'm just talkin sheeit about the bikes. My 636 is so far over my head right now, I'm just trying to hang on. Ditto on the RC51. Checked out the Nicky Hayden version at HOM last night. I am destined for one of those. Probably 5-6 years and I'll be proficient enought to use one. Hopefully.:D

Noel, call me up if your gonna roll! 619-342-6057

CjrCAM: Thanks for the welcome. I've never even sat on an RC51. What was it like? This 600rr is my first bike and the only other bike I've been on was a 02 R1 (passenger). Oh wait, I learned to ride on some Honda 125...whatever the MSF course used.
Arnold_R1: I'll save your number and call you when I do go out to BN. We didn't finish bowling till about 9 pm and I figured that was a bit too late to head up there from Chula Vista. I usually ride to Potrero or to Campo on Sunday afternoon. Maybe I'll see you out there sometime. This Sunday, a member from an MX6 forum I log onto (also rides a 600rr) is supposed to show me around Temecula. We'll see what's up...
Speedster1219: Thanks for the invite and I will take you all up on it some time. The thing is that I wouldn't want to hold the rest of the riders up. Faster does seem more fun and if you can't go as fast as you can because you're waiting on someone, it's kind of a drag. I learned to go at my own pace the hard way cause I didn't know any better. I've laid my bike down near Otay Lakes trying to catch up-bad idea.
Philo: It's cool...I know you're just messing around. I kinda expect it because I'm a FNG. I still get flamed on the 600rr.com forum even if I'm considered a "jr. member."

Pure bliss. Made my nuts tingle a little. And that was just sitting in the showroom!!!
I'd probably be riding out back with you anyway. Even the really fast guys don't always ride fast. The only thing that matters is having a good time and makin it home OK. Don't matter how fast or slow you do it. Besides, if you took the MSF, you're probably a better rider than me anyway.

Thursday's at the Starbucks on Mira Mesa by Miramar college, we all come together to tell grandios stories of the previous week, bs around, physically and verbally assault each other, and make fun of mustang drivers. Its alot of fun. It all kicks off at about 7 and ends when the last rider leaves.

Hey Chris, I know what you meant. Glad you registered. You can
never have enough group rides to join or peeps to hang out with
on bike night. :D

Hey all,
Newbie big-time squid here. I chose my username before I knew it was going to be on every post I ever create...I thought it would be easy for me to remember for logging in!
Anyways, so I'm Steve, and I recently moved to San Diego from Boston. I've been riding for not long, maybe three years, and I started on a '73 Honda 250cc, then graduated to a '76 Harley Sportster 1000cc, and when I moved here, got a bike with a little more horsepower, versatility, aggressiveness, sport-styling, and general smoothness ('00 BMW K1200RS). It's been awesome so far being able to ride comfortably all year, but now I no longer have my boys to ride with...that's why I'm here posting up. I'm usually down for a few hundge miles on a weekend or at least a cruise to the beach, but am a working stiff weekdays.
As you can see from my avatar, I enjoy setting things on fire :flame: ...and more normal activities such as playing hoops, drinking heavily and passing out, and I have a wicked (Boston habit; sorry) foosball table that needs to get more use...
I'm hoping there will be a bike night in Mira Mizzle tomorrow so I can come by to meet some of y'all. Till then, I'll be checking the board.

Hey fellas, thanks for the warm welcome. Just for the record, I lived in Boston, but was not born there, so I definitely DO NOT have a Boston accent!!!
I will certainly take on (but may not beat) all comers on the foos table...After a few introductory games, we'll have to arrange a high-stakes tournament...if I lose, the table will be set aflame...
