This is what I use, I have over 200 pictures, and only 4% of my space is taken up. You can have the thumbnails resized or not.

I know some people who use this to host their galleries. I don't know too much about it, but it looks nice and performs well.

Thanks for info Allan, question is are the pics private or does anyone have access to em? And if you give a friend access do they have access to all your pics? :errf:

pbase seems really cool. I do not believe you have much control over your own account and sub-accounts, though. I mean, it is free, from what I have heard, afterall. Here is my friend's album: http://www.pbase.com/dwagler I can put you in contact with him if you'd like.

If you want something with more control, you're going to need a domain and decent hosting company that gives you free reign over the systems side. Hypercycles and I are on Dathorn.com (boy, am I glad that everything is working out). My friend has been with them for a few years now, so I jumped on and like them enough to recommend them. Once that is setup, you can use the PHP gallery software from http://gallery.sourceforge.net/. It is free. It powers all of my photo galleries, including http://img.aguto.com (some slight modifications have been made to make it look like that, but on the whole it is the standard application). There are ways to setup sub-accounts and control who has control over what.

It really depends on how much control you want, how much you want to pay, and how much time and effort you want to put into it. I hope that helps!

If it's m/c related stuff, just use HyperCycles! If not, drop me a PM and maybe we can set something up... depending on how much space you're talking. Here's a lil' site I setup for my favorite niece: http://hannah.alforque.com; and a site that I know nothing about but is sitting on my webspace: http://www.maine-through-lens.com.

Speaking of your favorite niece....when are you stopping by again?

I don't really know, all I wanted was to find a fast, free, reliable place to post alot of my pics. I'll try to find out more when I can.
