'View New Posts' issues

Is there a way to modify it so that it will show all the post instead of just the ones that were replied to today. For example, when you're just lurking, if you click on 'view new posts' it'll show all the post say with in the past few days, but if you log on, then it'll show you threads that have been replied to in the past hour. Am I being too lazy or is this something that can be fixed!?!

my suggestion to you is to log on even if you are lurking. that way you can acheive some consistency in your new post view. but if you don't want people to know you're online, I think there is a way to hide your name from the user list in your user panel.
