first off, how cool is it that I have my own race report page! thanks Bod!
Ok, what a weekend, full of ups and downs for sure. Got off work friday and headed home to load up, got on the road around 5:00 and into the pouring rain. got to the track around 9:00 with Jiggy in the pimped out 92' voyager that we called home for the weekend, rained all night.
Saturday Jiggy and I had to get our cornerworking duty out of the ay, unfortunately it was still raining all damned day, WSMc staf did a good job and got the track open by 1:00, we both cornerworked up in 4a-4b area for a few hours, saw a couple crashes, watched Mikey Laine drag knee and run 28's in the rain, Jason Perez=the definition of smooth  ended the day , got our license signed off, got some grub, fixed a flat tire on the trailer and passed out watching dumb&dumber on the dvd player (thanks beautiful  ).
Sunday woke up to cloudy crappy conditions, went out first practice in the wet on some street tires that scared the crap out of me! sliding the bike all over the place, had a azz puckering experience in T3 then decide to come in and put on a brand new set of gp's(thanks again sweetie! ) mid-way through second session a dry line formed and it was on! feeling super comfortable and ready to get down to business...
Speed saved the day again by supplying the greatest tire warmers ever(huge thanks Mike!) and five hours later, after praying the mean looking clouds would stay where they were, it was our turn to head out:
I waited in pre-grid till everyone had gone out then lofted what must be my nicest wheelie ever outta the pits, rolled her up in first, shifted to second and third before putting her down and diving into T1, on the warm-up lap! Did I mention the bike was running awesome thanks to a little work and some liquid dynamite supplied by Deno(mad props deniz, owe you one dawg!) flew around the warmup lap and settled into my grid spot...#2. Got a decent start, front tire a little off the ground through 2nd before going into one flat out, in first place! went into T2 faster than I've ever gone before, held the lead until the second lap when James(USMC) stuffed me into T3, under a waving yellow flag! battle was on, tried to go back under into T4, but he slammed the door. awesome drive outta 5 let me roll right past going though T7 into 8. All alone out front for another 3 laps till we hit huge groups of LAPPED traffic! in 4 laps we had lapped like 10 riders  another pack of buells in T2 sent me WAY outside but kept her pinned and got past all of them, I knew James was still right there so I wasn't letting off! White flags out and I know James is gonna try something...going into T3 under hard braking I completey blow it and my foot catches the shifter and knocks her into 5th instead of downshifting into 3rd! backend steps out and knock it down two gears. know I'm way wide into 3 and know james is gonna come through...nothing, I gather it back and drive through 4 and 5. Then it happens, coming out of 8 James blows by into 9 on the far inside of the track, I know I will have better drive so I hold my line and get in the gas hard and early. Lapped traffic came into play and drove james wide while he grabbed a handfull of brake I squeaked by on the last little bit of pavement and pit entrance to blast by em all and sail across the line for my first novice race win! what an awesome feeling! next month will be my last novice race before getting thrown to the sharks of expert 600 racing, cann't wait!
Gotta thank a long list of people that helped me this month:
first of all my lovely girlfriend for supporting me so much in my racing efforts. I love you so much
