Hello Ladies,
I know there isn't a lot out there to choose from. But any ideas for the LA area. I've tried the motorcycle superstore via the web, and various shops. I really need some speacial made gloves for the NAILS. :ha:
Any ideas!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck girl.. I'm in Ohio and had literally no options to choose from. I tried on some garbage at little overpriced bike shops in Cincinnati, and wasn't happy with any of it.
Watch out for companies that think girls jackets have to be made from thin lambskin leather and less protection. Alpinestars has been one of the only places so far that I've seen make a decent attempt at offering a ladies line of gear.
I just ordered the 4W TZ1 suit, having never tried it on and guessing at the crazy european sizing. :) The guys at BuyMoto are way helpful and will be glad to help you out.
As for the gloves, I dunno what to tell you!
Ladies, what are the rest of you wearing?
.. no, not right now. When you ride. ;)

Because of the euro sizing, I suggest calling around your area to see if any store is carrying any female gear so you can try them on. After you figure out your size and what brand you want, I would then order from BUYMOTO.Com. By being a registered member on this forum, you'll get a discount on whatever you order. Their prices without the discount is generally lower then anyone else anyway. Also the guys at BuyMoto are great too! (Hey Bryant, wanna hire me as your sales girl ;) )
As for the gloves? You probably won't be comfortable with anything until you cut them :ko: I know you probably won't want to do that but you want gloves that fit snug.
For gloves I have women's alpinestars medium size 9 sp-2 ( i think :errf: ). I had the size 8 but they were a bit tight. I know Lin wears the 8s but I'm alot bigger than her. :)
For my jacket, I have the women's alpinestar's dyno size 42 which is a bit big but I knew that I would most likely be wearing layers underneath. So on cold night when I'm wearing like 5 layers of clothing underneath my jacket fits me just right. I also have another women's alpinestars denim jacket size 40 which fits me perfect. But that's my summer jacket, it breathes better than my leather one.
Hope this helps and good luck!

Yah, unfortunately, I don't think they're going to have gloves catered to women with longer nails. What gloves are you using now? Like Carol said, I have the sp-3 (just 1 off ;) ) and they are a small/8. I am thinking of buying a pair of better gloves, with some reinforments, like Teknic Lightning gloves (http://www.teknicgear.com/catalog.php?styleid=1&pid=52) .
For my jacket, I sport the ever popular 4w-dyno in a size 42, which fits me a little snug on the chest and loose at the waist line (it's just the way I'm shaped, most dresses/tops fit me that way). I'm able to wear 3 layers of clothing under the jacket still, for cold nights. :) The sphere looks pretty cool though!
For pants, I'm thinking maybe the A*s alloy or bat pants.... or maybe i'll get the new pipe first... oh decisions decisions.... no! Must think of skin first...... :squid:

Thanks for the help Ladies. I'd get rid of the bike before the nails. :werd:
I have fingerless and Joe Rocket gloves that I've cut the tips out of.
As for gear-I usually just ride in jeans, boots, and a joe rocket jacket. Not the safest, but much more comfortable. :ha:

*GASP* Nails before bike?!? You must love your nails...
Cold: A* Women's JD leather jacket. I liked the vintage look of the leather, simply black, and it didn't scream A* all over it
Warm: Ku****ani Women's Textile Jacket. Again, simply black and doesn't scream the brand.
Gloves: Ku****ani. Japanese sizing was perfect for my small hands.

They're about 2-2.5 inches long. I've had them for 18 years. My bikes run a very very close second. I use my nails for other things my bike can't do!!!!!
I'll try to post a pic soon!

could get expensive but i would then suggest maybe looking into custom gloves. or instead of cutting the tips of the gloves off, what about putting small slits in the finger tips; just enough for the nail to slide thru

Yeah. I think custom is the way to go. I've been looking for a shop that makes gloves.

Try Z-Custom Leathers. I believe they are up in the LA area. I'm sure they can add cut some openings and add sleeves to the end to accomodate your nails.
